Hmmm... I've bought and sold lots of cars in MD but never had that specific issue. It doesn't make sense to me that you should have to have someone else's lien on your car, even temporarily. That means that if they never paid their loan then the bank could take the car (theoretically). I would call ...

Yours was so stealth that even when I knew it was there, and I was standing 3 feet in front of your car in the daylight looking for it, it was hard to find!

I wouldn't think of it as something that makes your car more powerful. Instead, think of it as something the needs to be done to allow you to make your car more powerful. Another factor - If you autocross, rallycross, or drag, then top mounts tend to get heat-soaked when idling between runs and the ...

RS, definitely, even if you're planning to swap. The only reason I would get a lower-trim Impreza is if you wanted to do an ej22T swap into an old, pre-OBDII Impreza. But, if you're not gonna go that, then definitely RS over L. The RS has little upgraded things all around. Rear disc brakes, sportier...

I'm not venting to atmosphere or capping anything (I don't think). I've got the two tubes coming from the crankcase breathers into a T and then into the catch can (The T is visible in the lower right). From there, two tubes come out of the catch can to the intake tubing and to the PCV valve. I think...

OK I'm back in London so I was able to re-post all the pictures. Some are on page 1 and some are on page 3.

I obviously can't fix the broken links in vrg3's and BAC5.2's posts, but at least my whole writeup is in one piece again.

are you sure about that? When I cut the straps that were keeping my agx compressed during shipping, the strut damper extended and punched apart the cardboard box. I know the purpose of struts is the damping action, not the spring action, but maybe the compressed gas does exert some spring force also?

I used stock springs. Gr2/AGX definitely performs well with stock springs. You don't NEED to replace the stock springs unless they are sagging or unless you want the performance improvement of running stiffer springs. KYB will tell you that you shouldn't use springs with a lot of drop... I forgot th...

Re: KYB GR2 question....

Now my main concern is, will the strut be very stiff when its cold? Nope another concern is, how long do these struts typically last, meaning are they pretty much up to OEM standards? Yup. Pretty sure KYB makes the OEM Subaru shocks, so yeah they're up to OEM standards :) My KYB AGX lasted 4 years ...

I had those exact same codes. I'm pretty sure that was the problem I solved when I replaced the "ignition relay". The ignition relay is a swich that supplies power to all those things, so sometimes if the relay goes bonkers all those parts don't work right and throw error codes. Here is th...

Yeah, Thawa took down his server, and that screwed almost all of the old pics on this BBS. That highway thing is some default for broken links.

I can probably re-host all the pictures, but it wouldn't be for a couple weeks because I'm back visiting the states right now and my computer is in London.

That's pretty bad. Mine did almost that well when I only had spark in 2 cylinders, so the other two cylinders were just dumping gas out the exhaust pipe.

Best not to put ANY part of the car under u...

Heat sheild on the turbo is not really the issue. A lot of things cause heat soak besides the turbo. I mean, you shouldn't be melting anything... But, a TMIC is going to suck for drag, autoX, rallyX, etc... regardless of whether you have a heat shield no the turbo.

Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. Detonation would happen if you were running higher boost, but that's not what you're doing. More exhaust would cause your turbo to spool up to the correct speed SOONER, but then it's going to stop there and go the correct speed and no faster. There's...

Yeah, you can search here and on nasioc. I've posted charts before.

Did you get a wide band AFR system? If you just got a standard AFR gauge, it's not going to tell you much. It'll tell you whether you're running stoich at idle, but as soon as you accelerate it will go off the chart.
