I'll add Tapatalk again soon. The forum is working well enough, despite the delays it seems to having.

Re: Legacys in the media

On the latest series of The Skid Factory (BJ40 V12 Twin Turbo) the intro episode details that the engine they're putting into the Toyota Land Cruiser was previously in a BE Legacy (Liberty). That's right. A twin-turbo Toyota V12 in a Legacy. RWD with a Turbo 400 or something. MAAAAAADDDD. https://ww...

20 years of Legacy Central

I first posted about my 1990 Legacy L+ back soon after I got it in 1999. February 5th I posted the following: I went in to the Q-Lube that I used to work at today. I changed the fluids in the rear differential, final drive and auto transmission. For a vehicle with nearly 90k miles, I don't think any...

Post 2019 update I'll be adding Tapatalk back when I'm confident that the software and database are working.

Re: BBS Maintenance

We're up to the latest version of the forum software. Please test and make sure things work. There's another behind-the-scenes update that needs to happen, but it's not related to either this software or the precious database where everything is stored. I'll be investigating other, less "basic" styl...

Re: BBS Maintenance

Thanks for beating me to this post Josh. The newer board version will look a lot different than it does now. This is due to incompatibilities and the community-sourced themes and styles we utilize. Rotating banners and other quirky things will also go away until we can find suitable alternatives, if...

Regular Car Reviews - Reuben's 1991 and 1998 Legacys

Brian (Mr. Regular) visited New Zealand recently and got a hold of forum member Reuben for not only a pair of videos, but a loaner car. 1991 EJ25 swap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHTl3e87hmU 1998 GTB STI swap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXNE6sWq8Og These are just POV videos, not reviews, b...

It's 25 years, to the Month and Day, from when a vehicle was made, for the US import laws.

Re: Imporing a 25-year old JDM Legacy

A friend just picked up an R34 V-Spec II Nur and won't be able to import it for over 8 years, but got it at an attainable price. I can't imagine what those will be when they're legal for Canadian import, much less United States.

I do see a Suzuki Carry local though...

If you're really concerned about what Google is keeping on you, use this URL and it helps: https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity Instagram is pretty awesome, but never post anything there you wouldn't print and leave on a table at a restaurant. #legacycentral is a great idea. This was a surprisingly easy install with subtle, but noteworthy improvement. Much smoother and I passed smog tests without any cats.

We're changing some settings to force HTTPS on links, so that in the event you click an HTTP link, it'll force those to -S.

Indeed. Security shouldn't be so hard, but it's only recently become the standard on the internet, much to the chagrin of ISPs and other three-letter concerns.

Re: Now using SSL

The reason that the browser, Firefox or Chrome, isn't showing that it's %100 secure is because of elements like the Google Search and Adwords. Those elements are not delivered through SSL, yet.

Now using SSL

For those of you who are privacy-conscious, you may be pleased to hear that I've enabled a Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate for the forum. For those of you who are using new versions of Firefox, this will appease the warning it gives when selecting a saved password. It will also keep Tapatalk and Apple...

Re: New media outlets!

Crank Journal is fun because it's car nerds. No talking at length about new cars, or "current" topics, but it's all about what's in the classifieds, and iron that's out in the world.

I had a really fun time, and look forward to being on the podcast again in the future.
