91 Turbo Legacy 5spd 3.90 LSD (Parts Car) Under 100k miles

91 Turbo Legacy 2.2t Closed Deck Turbo 5spd AWD 3.90 LSD Rear Diff Body has a few deep rust spot where the front 1/4 meets the door both on driver and pass side. Radiator has a small leak from hitting a dear (thats why the original owner sold it) but can be filled and car starts smooth. I was planni...

Agreed. I don't understand how companies get the idea that we "have" to buy their stuff. Looks like the Pauters are my first choice unless anyone can post STI rod specs. If the STIs are similar enough I would consider them. Here are the specs from Pauter for the crank I am using: 2.5L pre ...

Thats really not too awefully bad for custom rods. I had a quote from ion performance of $1780 + shipping for their Rod/Piston setup to go with the stroker setup I am building. Here was there reasoning: Hi Brad, the rods/pistons are more expensive then other custom sized ones for several reasons: (a...

Your right about :

Pauter = $$$

Eagle = $335
Pauter = $720

They are also a little heavier then the Eagle H-Beams but the guys from Pauter say that they are strong.

Phase I EJ25 Rods The Same As EJ22T's?

Ive done some searching for forged EJ22t rods and ran accross a few sites that say the rods are the same between the 22t and 2.5.

Is this true?

They list specs as:

Rod Length – 5.137”

Design – Forged H-Beam

Fasteners – ARP 3/8” 2000 Rod Bolts

Fitments - Subaru EJ18 EJ20 and EJ22

EJ22t Stroker From Stock Parts?

Has anyone successfully taken a stock Phase I EJ25 crank and rods and installed it in the EJ22t block with stock EJ22t pistons? I have heard of a few companies selling kits that use custom pistons with different pin placements. When qeustioned about this pin placement the response I received was tha...

Is the emanage a full standalone or piggy back?

If piggyback how will it work to try and get your single cam ecu to manage a dual cam head?

Cool thanks for the info. " The markings I just made up, but you get the point." I got it. I was taking you literally. Legacymax - I will take a look and see if I can find the marking on the heads and see what they say. Are you talking about orientation markings or are they to classify wha...

Makes sense that markings like that would be on there but I'm not understanding what the problem would be ordering new ones and putting them in. Are the markings not on there from the factory?

Is It Possible To Replace Cam Caps?

I bought a set of dissassembled 2.5 DOHC heads a while back that are complete except for Cam Caps for some reason.

Anyway I have heard it is essential that these are matched to the head.

What would it entail to get a new set and have them matched to the heads or is it even possible?

"You may end up having to use your stock ECU for emissions testing and using an aftermarket ECU the rest of the time." I wouldn't mind that as long as the swap out is fairly easy. I guess all I would have to do is find a way to keep the wastegate fully open for a while previous to and duri...

Is a voltage clamp necessary? I was planning 14-16 psi with a VF30 or 34. Seemed like a good mach for the low compression 2.2 and the higher flow 2.5 heads. Didn't realize NASIOC was down in that region. For some reason I was thinking New York area. I'm not planning anything extreme with this swap it just happens to be the cheapest way to getting a running and hopefully reliable car for the time being. OBD-II Question For Aftermarket Turbo Users On NA Platform

I am working on putting together a turbo system for my 99 Leg GT but am wondering how to run boost without receiving CELs as well as be able to pass OBD-II scans when emmissions testing.

Anyone out there been able to accomplish this?

Someone else had mentioned cleaning the MAF. Any hints on how to do this?
