Bad news is water pump done oil pump only thing probably good is the bareblock and the transmission case cracked too

The motor and transmission, sunroof, struts/springs, hubs, brakes, 2 rear tires, a/c lines/compressor, shift knob lmao . But ya really does suck still

The other two hoses on the driver side are cooler lines. But the two on the top don't matter.

You can do it by removing a few things and still possibly leave you pcv. I have done it multiple times its a very tight area though. Recheck the plugs and wires out. Are you running ngk wires and plugs? Or atleast oem wires and ngk plugs? The spark plugs could possibly be loose too it happens. It that checks out fine maybe replace the MAF?

Hmm almost sounds like your cat is clogged now. Than again I don't see where you said you have done a tune up such as spark plugs, wires, pcv valve, seafoam engine, fuel filter etc?

What kind of vacuum are you making? Are you sure your bpv is fine, intake manifold gaskets? Possibly dead cylinder do a compression test, hook up a vacuum/boost gauge..

Also does your CEL work when you turn on ignition?

id start with water pump, oil pump(with o ring and crank seal), timing belt with idlers, rad hoses, rad, brakes, struts/springs, ball joints, than 5spd if necessary...

I was able to use the stock metal plate with the wrx linkage and boot not sure why yours doesn't work? It was only $10 for the plate. I used part # 35038AA080.

It is alot of work to drop the gas tank. You need to remove the rear crossmember etc. I wouldn't worry about it, just put a new pump and filter and goo!!

Hmm check the transmission level sounds like the flexplate is about to go though to be honest. Another possibility could be a exhaust leak because the engine would move more with a load it might create a midpipe leak.
