Re: Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Me
Probably ecu but I wouldn't know how to tell. It's obd2 1998 if that helps. Also this morning I put the key in and pushed it to on and the scan gauge doesn't turn on. When I fired the engine up (which started fine this time and last night) the gauge immediately came on displaying all the values. Cou...

Re: Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Me
Thanks I'll check those things. I've got a nice fluke meter with long leads that'll easily reach inside the cabin. I have the factory service manuals for it too so I'll look for an ecu relay. Either the scan gauge isn't getting enough voltage to trigger it to turn on or the ecu through the obd2 port...

Re: Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Me
What do you mean by electronic ignition? I have not let it idle longer 2 mins yet because I'm always going somewhere, usually to work, when I start it. It smoothes out by holding the pedal in partially and it struggles to gain Rpms. I'll throw the key in and see if the scan gauge comes on. It will t...

Yeah I don't know what's rattling but sounds like rod knock lol. Until it smoothes out and you can tell there's anything wrong with it.

Re: Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Me
Been waiting all day for this video to upload. Come to find out it won't upload without a WiFi connection so I connected to WiFi and it uploaded in a few mins. Then I changed the stupid YouTube settings to upload with any network.
Here it is. Sounds terrible. http://youtu.be/93wdWhX82ro

I don't think the alternator is bad. It's still putting out 14.1v at 70mph. Got a video uploading now on YouTube to show you guys how bad it is.

Re: Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Me
Hmm. Both interesting and possible culprits. I just so happened to have recently purchased a ctek battery tester and shall put it to use in a couple days. You think the battery would continue cranking the engine if it were bad?

Intermittent Violent Shaking Idle On Cold Start - Geo Metro
98 Chevy Metro 3 Cylinder Daily Driver In the last couple weeks my metro has been having a strange intermittent problem where half the time I start it in the morning to go to work it fires up and feels like it's running on 2/3 cylinders. The engine shakes the whole car and barely stays alive. I have...

Man I'm jealous of both your cars. Why do you guys get better versions than us! Not fair. You did a great job turning that around and what a steal for $500.

I believe it's at least $500 ticket, if not $800 for driving with no insurance and if you do it again you might be arrested. Been a long time since I've heard anyone I know get a ticket for it so I can't remember the exact punishment.

Kimo that is the issue I am having is because he didn't have insuarance. Upon speaking with the insurance company I can unerstand why people don't as many of you have pointed out, but it is one of those things that have to be payed. If you have no coverage and hurt someone and mess up their vehicle...

Re: Tony's 91 SS 29Dec R.I.P.
Man Tony that video was tough to watch. Even as short as it was and without audio it still hurt to see it burn. Was the guy just not paying attention or texting and hit you at a stop? How do you have a car that new and not have insurance?? That baffles me. We almost bought one of those 2011 camrys l...

I used a 2x4 wrapped in 220 to clean mine on the metro 20k miles ago when I replaced th be ad. Worked great. Make sure it's long enough to cover the whole surface so it sands evenly.

Re: V4 STi Seats Installed, 93 SS
I want some different seats. Sick and tired of seats that sit too high. I want some tiger stripe seats or some racing lightweight seats but the tigertigerstripe onos don't match at all and they're hard to find in good condition.

Re: Tony's 91 SS 20Dec New Video
Well I figured out why I couldn't find it on summit. Searched my build journal and it seems I got it from eBay. $40 with a 5 year warranty that I didn't register for. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=40398&start=100 http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/kimokalihi/91%20Le...

Re: Tony's 91 SS 20Dec New Video
Maybe not but it's not something I'd try again. Was trying to be "green" and it screwed me. I'll look for it on summitracing. It was a cheap one I think it was only $40. Fair warning.

How much dollars? I redid mine a few years ago and they still look decent. Did your lights not have those extruding mounting points for headlight aiming tools? Makes it a pain to sand.

I too think it's on unless requested off for safety and the buyer decides what psi to set it at if they want it.

I thought that fuel cut was the same thing as redline fuel cut. Just prevents you from going too far. I could be wrong though.
