Re: ej20g robtune issues
because of the way rob sets the ecu up for the knock light, any time theres a code in the computer, the cel will flash constantly instead of staying on steady.

Re: Ej22t swap into 93 NA legacy with Rob tune wiring
if you want to clean things up under the hood you can put the map sensor and pressure exchange solinoid under the dash near the ecu. if you are gonna use a manual boost controller you can leave the BCS out of the equation, the car i just did didnt throw a CEL when i left it out. if it did come on, a...

my old car had the same setup, i never even de pinned the wires the 20g ecu didnt need, however i did merge the map ground. you have all the steps covered, if you do them correctly your car should run just fine.

Re: Who's running 18" on their car ?
you need to remember that sidewall size is subjective to the width of the tire. a 35 sidewall on a 225 will be alot smaller then a 35 sidewall on a 275. so that while some cars come with 30 series tires, the width might be wider and in turn the sidewall isnt as small as it would be on a narrow tire....

a 225 35 has barely any sidewall. the wheels themselves looked too big not the overall package

Re: Who's running 18" on their car ?
i have run 18x8.5 +44 with 235/40/18 and 17x8.5 +45 with 245/40/17 on my old wagon. the 18"s just look too big on these cars IMO. the 18"s were volk RE30's and they were beautiful, but just looked too big for the car. the 17"s were advan TCII and looked perfect IMO. should be a link i...

Re: which one ? 98 outback 2.5 vs 01 outback 3.0 ??
I can't agree. Used car prices now are very, very different from what they were 10-15 years ago. They've come down in the last year or so, but a couple of years ago, used car prices were through the roof. In 2011, my best friend bought a 2006 Volvo V50 for his wife with 70k miles on it, from a frie...

Re: which one ? 98 outback 2.5 vs 01 outback 3.0 ??
id do the 6cyl hands down. the 98 will need head gaskets, then you have almost the same amount of money wrapped up in a older car. 4k for a 98 is also way high. 2500-3500max is the norm, and for 3500 it better have new headgaskets and all other maintenance done already.

Re: Any Write-Ups on Installing 4EAT Filter Kit?
its super easy. drain/remove pan, unbolt all bolts holding the filter in, unbolt crossover pipe in front of filter to allow filter to be removed. install new filter with o ring, install crossover pipe, tighten bolts, install pan and fill with 4qts atf. takes about 20 minutes. i recently did my girls...

Re: Turbo for big power (450 - 500+ HP) on built EJ22T
from what i have seen the stock shortblock wont take 400hp either without the cast pistons breaking, or the rods bending.
my buddy dave recently dyno'ed his ss with a built 22t, vf34, robtune and other supporting mods and made 270whp. above that, maf, injectors, and turbo will start to max out.

Re: Turbo for big power (450 - 500+ HP) on built EJ22T
no vf turbo will support 400whp so toss that idea. the rob tune is maxed out at 270-280whp due to injectors and maf. to make that kind of power you will need a standalone and a gt35r/pte6262/borg s300 size turbo. get ready to spend ALOT of money to make it work and be reliable. going above 350whp on...
