that is just fine. 1600F is when engine destruction begins, so try to keep here under 1550F. 1450-1500 is a good safe range. :)

I am not fimilar with the under dash method. i always disconnect the battery. negative terminal for 30min, then start with all accessories off and don't touch the gas. let it idle for about 10-15min. shut it down, start back up and go have some fun. :)

don't use glossy paint. or instead, go and get it powdercoated which is better and not much more money. powdercoat is not glossy.

your speedometer is only going to read .6 mph slower. not a big deal. if you do the speed limit, it won't matter. not a very big difference but worth the extra width. gearing also will not be a problem. acceleration will be the same.

okay, guys. i am almost done with this mod, i just need to put the throttle body back on. curious though, couldn't you just run one whole new hose instead of connecting the two old ones with a coupler?

i used a 3/8in brass coupler and screw style hose clamps. i hope it does not leak.

It sounds to me like a lack of top end flow. the small stock turbo is not efficient past 13-14psi. plus, this turbo can't really pull all the way to redline hard. it is good up to 5k. upgrade to a catless downpipe and only run about 14 psi. it will help. 8)
