Re: Going top mount. 06-07
I used a silicone Y from a WRX and cut it up to fit properly. I used some clean pipe we had kicking around to join the cut up Y pipe back together. Also used no BPV for several years with no issues. I removed my A/C and had to make some room at the firewall. We also relocated the coolant tank to whe...

I'm sure you want to make it as oem as possible, but check out danielsternlighting.com, he sells modules with a harness for around $50USD.

Re: Day time running lights?
I'm not sure if the wiring harness for the drl's is there for a US car, but the module on my last Canadian car was behind the panel to the right of the passenger foot well, just ahead of the passenger door.

Re: A way to save your EDM glass
I had mine done at a shop in Northern BC, cost $60. My drivers side head lamp took a hit this winter from a nearly 2 inch stone, it did chip and crack, but without the film it would have smashed all the glass out. It is still sealed and hasn't started to build any condensation inside at all.

Re: Few questions about manual transmissions
On a truck, the trans temp is cooled by heat exchange with the engine coolant. When the trans temp is low, the coolant will heat the trans oil. Even after warming my truck's engine to full temp, the needle on my trans temp gauge won't have moved even the slightest. It was 32F yesterday, and when I l...
Re: taxes
Don't feel so bad, I paid over $4000 in January! I haven't gotten my 2012 paperwork yet, but I paid close to $30k last year! I hope to get $5k of that back though.

Re: Injector cleaning, including rails and o-rings
There is a place in Kelowna that the guys have had good luck with, maybe Interior Injection or Okanagan Injection. They cleaned/balanced injectors for bmxkelowna and nosyt, maybe PM them to see. I think it may have been around $100/set?

Re: Release bearing diagnosis
Sorry, my bad, I had a 2.5 rs trans in my last one. Even still, for $200 I wouldn't even look at it. It is apart, now is the best time to replace it.

Re: Release bearing diagnosis
For about $35 I wouldn't even bother looking at the old one. I just had one fail last month and had to spend 4 hours of my afternoon dropping my transmission to replace it. Do the pilot bearing at the same time.

Re: acceptable tire size range
The diameter of a 205/50r15 is nearly 2 inched shorter than the stock size, so yes, they will fit.

Re: 91 legacy wagon easily convert to FWD?
TB? 1. Probably, just bend down and take a look? 2.You can remove the rear section at the u joint, but I doubt the hanger would support the front half enough to keep it in the transmission. 3. It will take you a few hours to remove the rear axles, but you have to split them apart and put the outer c...

Picked up a new RUST FREE turbo Legacy from Squamish B.C. last week. Was originally a US car. 5 speed WRX trans swapped in, 3 inch exhaust, Revtronix chip, Diamond coil pack, otherwise stock. I had Rocket Rally mount up some Yokohama IG20's onto the stock t-leg wheels before I picked it up, and have...

Re: So, can i just torch a coil?
I've cut them before and had decent success, just remember that you while you increase spring rate for a stiffer ride, your struts won't increase damping, leaving you with a bit of bounce. DevC cut 1 coil on his Legacy and it turned out pretty good.

Yes, you would need GD WRX sedan axles to make them work.

Re: Issues on a 93 Turbo Legacy auto-to-manual swap
Throttle cable tension is probably what is causing your hanging revs. It is probably too late now, as you have removed the TCM, but we usually leave the switch part of the AT gear selector wired under the hood, and shift it to park. There is no messing with depinning plugs, and it can work as an ign...

Re: Rebuilt my 93 SS. Rod knock?
Sounds like a sticky lifter to me, try some lifter medic or something of the sort first, and take it for a good drive. I bought a 94 that sounded similar, we poured a cup of diesel into the oil, and did a limiter pull up an 8% grade, it cleared up right away.
