Thanks for the notes. I should have realized from the OP that it was an 4EAT. but I think the advice is still applicable to my 5MT.
I'm still worried about how difficult the shaft is to rotate, so maybe I'll keep looking around for advice.

I'm in the process of reassembling my 5mt. The pinion shaft feels stiff esp. compared to the other rotating parts. Plus there is a little rotational play and a bit of noise. The skid plates are sweet (until you go to change the oil and have an extra 4 bolts to wrangle). IMHO the air ride is not so sweet. Unless you want to replace them ($$$) every 8-10 years.
