When I did my swap I purchased some of the misc bits from a guy, ten80 on Nasioc. Here is a recent for sale post from him. Just PM him and see if he has what you need. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1880552 From what I remember the new and old bumpstops were the same (as long as yo...

It would help to know what year your car is and if it is a wagon or a sedan. Assuming you have a 92-94 and according to: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=22419 You should be able to use 02-03 WRX non-tapered rear springs. The front springs, you should be able to use 02-07 WRX springs as ...

I have one of each in my garage ATM and the midpipe looks to be the same diameter, 2.5" the STi does have a different, longer resonator. The WRX catback is definately a smaller diameter, 2.25".

You can also use the same technique to replace the plastic part of a plug which has broken. Just remove all of the terminals and plug them into the other plug. Just be sure to either label or remember which terminal went where.

You are an idiot Yazmo. You installed a MBC without first installing a boost gauge. You don't even know if you installed the MBC correctly. With the MBC set to minimum, you will be running wastegate boost of 5 LBS instead of 9.5 with the stock management. You shouldn't even be attempting to install ...

I found a site that sells restrictors of different sizes and also adjustable ones. I did not buy from them, so I cannot vouch for them.

I was able to get the vwrx software to work, but it only works reliably reading one value at a time. If you understand how the protocol works it makes sense that multiple values does not work well. Vikash's software is more complete in that it shows more parameters. I guess I will need to build a se...

Well, I did replace the knock sensor with a brand new OEM one and still had the problem. At that point I thought I was having knock, possibly due to carbon build up or something else. At the same time I installed a new Bosch O2 sensor and later I installed new NGK BKR6E11 plugs (OEM and turns out th...

I measured the resistance of the knock sensor and mine was 556k ohm. I disconnected the knock sensor and connected the resistor instead and grounded the otherside. After a quick test drive, I now always get >5lb boost. Of course I did not drive around a lot with the knock sensor bypassed and avoided...

I connected a voltmeter to the boost control solenoid. It looks like the BCS is fine and the ECU is forcing the car to run on wastegate boost. I'm still trying to get the select monitor cable to work. I pulled the knock sensor and did not find any obvious cracks. I would think that the problem is ei...

Also be aware that one of the hoses contains a restrictor pill. I believe it is the one that goes from the bottom of the solenoid to the intake plenum.

I built this cable and burned the v0.05 version on a CD. It works great with my Dell Latitude CPi, but not with my IBM T42. It seems to me that others (IronMonkeyL255) have experienced the same problems with some IBM laptops. With my T42 it would error with Invalid ROM ID as it returned different in...

I wouldn't recommend much more than an 1" of lowering. Any lower than that and you will be riding on the bump stops which will make for a harsh ride and will probably give you worse performance. If your struts are good, then you may be able to get away with just springs. But you may want some i...

Thanks for the props! Yes, I put 2 washers between the tophat and nut. You can see just a bit of the washer in the 5th photo. I suppose you could put them in 1 of three locations. Either below the spring seat, above the shaft or between the spring seat and the tophat or between the tophat and nut. T...

I put two 9/16" washers above the tophat, between the tophat and the top nut. It seemed to me the right way to do it because my stock struts had a smaller washer in the same place. You might need a different washer because mine were KYBs. I would think the shaft would be the same in which case ...

92TW + KYB WRX wagon struts + stock or Whiteline Control?

I have a 92 Turbo Legacy Wagon. The struts are blown and I am planning on replacing them with a set of KYB GR2s from an 02/03 WRX wagon. I have front built using spring seats and tops from on 04, so basically a WRX wagon front strut. For the rears I'm going to use the KYB GR2 rear struts and WRX wag...

Thank you all for your advice. It's about $100 for a new knock sensor and don't want to replace if I don't have to. I think this is what I'm going to do: As soon as I have time, I'm going to read any stored codes. Then reset the ECU and read the codes again later. Next I'm going to make the cable to...
