Re: GC8 Quick Turn Steering Rack in a JDM BF5
I'd reuse the one that came on your car, just to be sure. I have a feeling that a normal LHD 1st gen legacy one would be the same, but I've never tried that. If your JDM gc8 rack didn't come with one, I would try a junkyard GC/GM/GF lhd knuckle, but once again, I don't know if theres a difference be...

Re: lightweight 14" for a 1990 wagon?
I had some 14's that were stock on my 1996 Legacy L, they were pretty light.

Re: GC8 Quick Turn Steering Rack in a JDM BF5
You'll need to have a welder uh weld your legacy knuckle to a GC knuckle. This is SOP when swapping racks, unfortunately. I had one made when I put a GD STI rack in my GC. I believe I paid $40, plus the cost of the second knuckle.

Re: 1992 Legacy BC Heater Core replacement part
You got to pull the dash, and separate away the AC box if you have one. Double check you removed all the bolts and/or nuts holding the heater core in. Remove the heater core hoses that are in the engine bay. Then, you'll have to use all of your strength to pull the heater core out. It's been held in...

Re: 1992 Legacy Sun Roof control box relay issue
We never got those in the states that I know of. My latest turbo legacy did the same thing as yours, I heard a click but nothing happened. There is some kind of logic that won't allow the motor to operate if the resistance encountered is above a set percentage. Like a primitive limit switch. What wo...

Re: 02 wrx trans hydraulic conversion
The mechanical speed sensor screws right in where the electronic one goes. As for pedals, a perfect fit of course would be from a 91-94 SS. You can get most of the bolts to line up from other 1990s cars with hydro pedals, such as the 98-01 impreza RS, 97-99 Outback and Legacy GT, or 1st gen Forester.

Probably, but I'm sure you'll find out soon! That's a huge hurdle, finding phase 2 dohc cam gears with phase 1 timing marks on it. You lucked out.

Re: anybody out there + Megasquirt
Haven't heard of anyone successfully running megasquirt on an SS/TW. Something about not getting a good signal from the cam or crank sensor. I've heard of people successfully running it on ej20g based imprezas, and those sensors and triggers are the same as ej22t. So maybe board members didn't try h...

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
My ESL is still running good after a couple years, and I just checked their website (http://www.enduringsolutions.com) and the price is down to £315. I paid £410. A really good deal if your local tuner is willing to deal with it. They never added the "motorsport pack" to the ej20g version,...

Re: Mike-Tracy's New 92 SS
1600 miles and counting. I replaced the valvecover gaskets with oem ej25d ones. There are small but important differences between the ej20k and ej25d gaskets that I've never seen anyone mention. There are several "nubs" that have nowhere to go in the ej20k heads. I cut them off and haven't...

Re: GC8 cluster in 92 rhd legacy
Physically it's not a direct swap, and plugwise it's not either. You should contact Iwire to see what's involved in rewiring it, I'll bet with Impreza cluster plugs you could repin it to work. If I were going to do it, I'd take everything out of the legacy cluster's case and put the guts of the GC c...

Re: Motor seized and looking for other options that is n/a for a 1994 legacy wagoooon
That would solve most of the issues other than the timing crank and cam sprockets being wrong. Someone in the UK (Carl Davey?) Created conversion spacers. However... The intake manifold has to be cut in half and widened! Better bet is to swap in any EJ shortblock between your 2 best heads. As long a...

Nope, electrically it is incompatible, and short of machining custom parts to physically adapt your phase 1 ej22's iac, throttle body and etc, as well as building resistor patch harnesses for the injectors it won't work.

Re: Motor seized and looking for other options that is n/a for a 1994 legacy wagoooon
There's the old phase 1 ej20s and phase 2 ej20s. The phase 1 version is what you want. It is identified by having raised lines and 16 Valve written on the valve covers. The phase 2 motors have smooth valve covers. Most likely you'll have to swap intake manifolds, possibly the cam and crank sensors t...

My friend said he reused the ej20k rings, making sure they went back in they cylinders they came out of.
I never ended using my ej20k shortblock, just it's heads, so thats no help to you either.
