Re: crank pulley little hole size/ cam sprocket removal

I don't worry about the drivers side cams "unloading", after 100's of DOHC belt replacements. Why? If the cams are "unloading" you are actually closing the valves. They only open up 3/8 or so. Put a tool on the cam sprocket bolt if you want to slowly move the cam to relieve tensi...

quick note for a/t to m/t conversion guys impreza pedal sets don't match your legacy bolt pattern. Forester stuff is perfect. Small parts do indeed transfer if your willing to test fit. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f171/sparkie121/CIMG0197.jpg Joes 92 SS with a USDM td04 and forester TMIC. BTW ...

USDM 98 Forester clutch reservoirs are a direct bolt in and small enough not to interfere with anything. (whole pedal set as well if doing an auto to manual conversion).
Joes 92 SS is here and underway. Now I see what he's been reading for his top-mount conversion. Very nice write-up!

As far as Gabe's tranny, any one with an interest can call my cell phone.

Why not post up vins for the turbos. It would be cool to see who has the lowest number, consecutive number arrangements, where different numbers ie cars wound up around the country. For instance, livestrongs vin ends in 600466, our other SS (the Clone) ends in 600449...probably made on the same day ...

The phrase "or funny noises" is likely a typo....the seller seems to have lots of car salvage stuff for sale in other auctions BUT only about 63~ items traded so far.

The car wears good on you. A perfect match I'd say. That has to be the Cleanest untouched SS!! I've had lots of fun with the automatics. A tight rebuilt one will spool that turbo just right and keep pulling while you hang on saying will it ever stop pulling? It's a different experience than a manual...

I talked to that guy on the phone, asked for pictures and no response to my e-mail....sounded like a USED CAR DEALER! Had a foreign accent and would not let me come look at the car as he said his sister was borrowing it. I gave up on that one. The thread is closed but I'm sure it will back up.

tranny swap

I went back to the u-pull-it today and was quoted $150.00 for the tranny and every part I need to make the conversion. They must count up frequent flyer miles somewhere. How could I not go for it!!!! Both rear ends are 4.111. Should work... right???....do I really need to switch drivelines or was th...

Super Info!

WOW! I joined your website today after reading the entire a/t to m/t swap yesterday morning. While I was reading the account, I was convinced it would be insane for me to take that route. My a/t is toast. Stinky black fluid slips in 3, no 4. Later yesterday I saw a '90 m/t awd at the local u-pull-it...
