I guess your right...if I decide to go ahead w/ this one I'm going to pull it out to W&L Subaru (5 blocks) & have them do a leak down test to make sure its not rings.

You know what...if I should replace all that stuff...I might as well just buy a used engine. I found an engine locally, they want $1000 for it. It has 71,000 on it. Its out of a 94 & just came into the yard in 2003....they'll give me 30 day warrenty.

timing covers
On my ej22t can i remove timing covers without removing alt - ps - ac? I think timing belt is snapped, compression is very low.

Thats exactly what happened! How did you drain the coolant out of head? I have coolant on plugs on opposite side as well

New to Legacy Central
My lastest Subaru...I've finally made it out of the 80's...I've been in a time warp. 92 Legacy Sport Sedan Auto...$100.00...won't start...coolant on plugs. Never heard engine run, would you buy used engine or try to fix existing. I think it has blown head gasket or warped heads, cause there is coola...
