Re: 1997 Impreza OBDII w/ EJ22T.. where to start
I tried depinning the ecu pins. The OBD II pins are larger and slightly different sized and wouldn't fit into the OBD I plugs.

Re: 1997 Impreza OBDII w/ EJ22T.. where to start
Robert, here is the link to my build thread http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=52127 I don't know how much it will help you though, it's pics mostly. The wires I had to add were the turbo specific sensors mostly, my car being OBD II already had a MAP sensor and Pressure Exchange s...

Re: Zach's 95 Impreza EJ22t swap
Here is a pic from the Subaru cruise that our local club went on last weekend. I don't normally go on these things cuz I'm not exactly a people person. When I say that, I mean I can't stand all the pompous asses that have brand new STIs that think they are the shit and don't even know whats under th...

Re: 1997 Impreza OBDII w/ EJ22T.. where to start
I did do the EJ22t swap in my 95 Impreza LX which was originally an automatic and OBD II. I used an JDM Ej20g ecu with the Robtune but this is OBD I of course. I cut off the original ecu plug and soldered the corresponding wires to the OBD I 4 ecu plugs from a 90-94 Legacy and had to add a couple sm...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
Mine did the same thing when I first got it going and Kimo told me to check the codes, and that's what it was. I had a code for the TPS, once I fixed it, it didn't flicker anymore. I haven't seen it flicker at all since then to ever indicate knock, except while cranking it over to start it. I though...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
None taken. Yeah, I wired the Map the same as the EJ20g pinout, the ground goes to B48.21-"sensor ground" with the coolant temp sensor ground. Also, for the map sensor, I used an uncut full length of wiring from a turbo Legacy harness that I stripped down. But, the Pressure exchange harnes...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
No, it hasn't thrown a code but it bothers me so I'm probably going to hook it up. Today, I did a check on the codes even though there wasn't a CEL, I had three codes stored, 23-Airflow sensor, 24-Air control valve, and 45-Atmospheric sensor. The atmospheric sensor has shown up previously but it nev...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
Yeah, as my car is still fresh to me, i tend to check that my turbo is still there quite often, haha. The Spokane Subaru Club had a cruise today and I couldn't resist showing off to all the newer STIs, WRXs, BRZs. I have had the boost turned down to 10lbs recently because my wideband O2 was damaged ...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
How are you guys driving your car getting these MPG numbers? Mostly conservative? We had a local cruise today and it was a lot of spirited driving and I got crap gas mileage, like a 100 miles for a half tank.

Re: Nasty rattling on deceleration
I have an Excedy stage II clutch in my Impreza and I get a similar noise under decel as well. Like you, I keep checking everything under the car, and can't find anything that would be making noise. I had never heard of the spring thing with the clutch till Josh posted that.

Re: Timing belt & accessible seals, all at once?
I usually use sockets or anything I can find lying around in the garage that will match the diameter of the seal. I have used a oil filter socket once to put the rear main seal in. I'm not sure what the socket sizes were off the top of my head though. If I had to guess, 19-22mm on the cam seals, may...

Re: Seat interchangeability?
For the fronts, I know the Imprezas will work all the way up to 07, also 95-99 Legacys will for sure fit. 05-newer Legacy will not, 3 out of 4 will bolt up but one will not without some customizing. I've never tried 00-04 Legacys but my buddy has a set of 01 LL Bean Outback seats in his 94 wagon, no...

Re: Zach's 95 Impreza EJ22t swap
I have been driving the Impreza with the Robtune ECU back in it. The car is awesome to drive. The first couple days of driving it were fun, just getting used to it. I raced a buddys 07 WRX, which has the "Stage 2" Cobb tune and a bunch of other stuff and beat him through every gear. After ...

Re: Timing belt & accessible seals, all at once?
I took off the oil pan of the EJ22 from my 98 Legacy today to do the pan gasket and this is what it looks like when someone uses too much RTV in the wrong places. So, needless to say, this engine is probably junk. This is why I like to use the Anaerobic sealant. http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n...

Oh, and the o ring goes around the port on the lower left between the oil pump and block. I wasn't meaning the whole oil pump has an o ring, just that little port.

Re: Timing belt & accessible seals, all at once?
Permatex makes the Anaerobic sealant as well as ultra grey. I don't know all the details on Anaerobic, but it only dries on the mating surfaces where there is no air(02), so any that squishes out when you torque the bolts down won't dry and possible break off where it would be free to go into any oi...

Re: Timing belt & accessible seals, all at once?
I just got doing most of this on my 98 Legacy and I noticed that one of your prices was way high, The oil pump o-ring. I bought mine from my local dealership for $1.97, but that was with my 50% discount, so originally it was $3.64 but that is still cheaper than the $15.54 you listed. Just thought th...

Re: WCSS15
I'd be happy to give you a set of pics I took. I also have pics of the two previous years of WCSS. They aren't the greatest pics as they are taken from a point n shoot camera, not like the nice DSLRs everyone else seems to have.
