Re: Rebuilding ej22t, need advise on boring/honing/pistons/r
I've yet to see the oil squirter coming loose really detonate anything. Not that you want to simply ignore it, though. You will want to get the pistons to give to the machine shop so they can get the clearance right. Wiseco sells oversized ones and there may be someone else who will make them to spe...

Indeed, this was a really fun meet! I drank a lot of interesting beer and got a free grill (thanks Kijan!). Had fun checking out the cars and hanging with you guys-- was pretty fun in the back yard!

Re: My ej22t build.....Hopefully
Well, some of the information is still a bit off. The EJ22T Pistons are cast & coated, not forged. The EJ257 is not an open deck block but instead a semi closed. There are way more EJ257 blocks out there making this kind of power than there are EJ22T. I think I would ask, what kind of power band...

Re: My ej22t build.....Hopefully
Hmm. I would start off with a higher displacement block like a 257.. or if you really are gonna go full standalone- and rebuild a motor entirely to that extent; Why not a EG33?
I'm pretty sure our rods aren't forged (EJ22T), but STI ones are (I don't know the details down to a T).

Glad to hear its coming back together; Downtime really sucks. I wouldn't argue against the fun daily driver plan either; Your car was still pretty fun with that TD04 on there.

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
Borrowed a evoscan? cable from Mike.. Been doing a bit of logging at a few different boost levels trying to figure out a few things; Pretty interesting. I hit a strange fuel cut limiter on the revtronix chip at a certain set of parameters; Need to just keep reading and figure out what is normal, wha...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
I've been putting a lot of miles on my little wagobeater but the brakes are overdue for repair so it was sidelined for my trip this weekend. I got my rebuilt alternator back from the shop in Kent (the rebuilder) and got it squared away and its back running and reliable once again. I drove about 600 ...

Got my room mates cheap ugly SS back running/driving.. Mild reseal and new clutch, misc other bits. Took up more time than I would like. I'm really glad I don't repair cars for a living.

derp.
I have slowed on the car. Too busy with summer stuff. Front and rear strut tower bars installed.. Need to address my strut situation in the coming months. Need to install my lsd. Broke my alternator.. Having it refurbed locally for cheap.

Re: randomiams 1993 Legacy SS with bonus TW action within!
Are you sure Alphius? from the revtronix legacy thread: • There is also a safety fuel cut when things get really bad at ~1.5 g/s load. I haven't hooked a revs can cable up with proper software to log and check parameters. It hits a not abrupt cut of sorts at 4800-5500 depending on the boost level; i...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
hit big nw, sold/picked up some parts etc
Installed my front & rear strut tower bars.. I don't think I'll have the front one for very long. I bought a hood for my car but its the 92 year shade silver, not my quicksilver metallic.. Sucks. I'll be tossing in a 3.9 lsd rear differential soon.

Re: randomiams 1993 Legacy SS with bonus TW action within!
brief bump, slowed a little bit spending. Fresh non winter tires went on back in may.. I finally found a clean stock hood in my color code! YEAH! I'll be installing that and some other goodies in the near future. Currently running the revtronix pretty reliably at around 14psi but it cuts a bit at 50...
