Re: Legacy SS #3
Jiffy Lube -- ha ha -- they live up to their name -- they'll wreck your car in a jiffy! I got weak once because I wouldn't have time to change the oil so I went there -- how about a stripped oil pan bolt, lost the bolts to the air cleaner housing (and told me my air filter was dirty when I had chang...

Re: Bad electrical component?
Thank you, both, for your replies. :D Okay, now does anyone have any idea why ATF would have leaked out? It was probably about a cup or two of ATF under the starter area. I tried tracing it but couldn't locate the source. There was also a burning smell like electrical mixed with something else. Anyo...

Re: Bad electrical component?
I wouldn't think that unplugging the ignitor would mess anything up, But i haven't ever tried to start without the ignitor unplugged. Do you have another you can test on? Did you forget to plug something else in? i don't have another ignitor to swap in. And I don't recall leaving anything else unpl...

Re: ss won't run with warm engine
I had to leave the ss with a friend who's a mechanic since I had to get back to work and the ss is still not running right.
I just started a new thread since it's a specific question but it may be related: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51584

Bad electrical component?
I'm still having issues getting my '93 ss to run right. Basically, it bucks and stalls under load. This morning I was reviewing the history of when the drivability issues began. I had overlooked one event and I'm thinking it could be the cause of the issues. Here's what happened: I had replaced the ...

Re: WTB: steering rack for '93 sport
Thanks for that info!
So, is it only the '04 sti rack that can be used or can sti racks of other years be used? Also, does the mod still keep the safety feature of the column collapsing in an accident?

Upgrading turbo on Revtronix chip
Hey guys. What would happen if a td05 were installed in place of a td04 on a Revtronix chip with nothing else changed? I know injector size matters but what about the turbo? Thanks for your help!

So, was it the connector under the rear seat that was the problem or was it something else?

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
It still works with the profile for an EJ20g (I think it has Ver 2 STI), but whoever made the profile has an absolute minimum of things that it reads. If you could find out the addresses for various functions on the ecu, I'm sure it would be as comprehensive as the EJ22t's profile, or more. Perhaps...

Wow gorgeous car! DITTO to that! Welcome to the board! Hope you stick around! Did you do all the swap yourself? How does the dash fit? What kind of seats have you installed? How did you get the wiring done? Etc. I know you're busy but if you could do a write-up on the different aspects of the swap ...

Mike, what did you find out about the relays? Did you do anything that remedied the situation? The ABS pump on my '94 wagon just started running tonight. I was in good clothes and didn't want to get them dirty so I just disconnected the battery for now. But I'll need to do something about it tomorro...

Re: My 1991 Subie
Laura, what kind of exhaust do you have? I think yours is the first I've seen with the oval tailpipe. It fits well and looks good. Also, is just the axle back aftermarket or is the whole exhaust from the turbo aftermarket?

I went back to see what suspension setup you're running and just realized that you already had posted the tire size and brand. Thanks for being a gentleman about it in your reply!

Re: ScottyS 1991 SS back from the brink
Those wheels look so good on that car. For some reason they usually don't but you have the perfect amount of gap. And I want that sterring wheel. The secret is the tire size - the stock 205/55's suck visually, but these don't. So, what tire size are you running on the car? (And, your ss looks GREAT!)

Re: ss won't run with warm engine
I did more testing on the ss today. I found that even when the engine is cold when it reaches about 2200 rpms, the engine starts stalling out. So, no longer is the stumbling/ stalling temperature sensitive. And It also doesn't matter what gear I'm in, once it reaches 2200 rpms, the stalling starts. ...

Re: ss won't run with warm engine
Well, the new sensor wire seems to have fixed the 22 code (knock sensor). The ss runs better. HOWEVER, it starts stuttering at about 2200 rpms when the engine gets warm. Once I start up an incline, the power drops off. If I feather the gas, I can keep the car driving but only about 10-20 mph. As lon...
