Re: 1993 SS 5-speed worth more stock or Rob-tuned w/mods?
With the fenders rolled, even if they're not pulled, there will appear to be a larger gap between the fenders and tires with the stock (skinnier) tires. So, basically, it's aesthetics. Some prospective buyers are particular when it comes to things like that. I'm saying this from the experience I hav...

I like the mods you've made to the ss!
Just one thought: Depending on how much the fenders are rolled, you may want to keep the 225's on when you sell the ss.

Thanks for the reply, Josh. Yes, hopefully someone will know what size that banjo bolt is, or better yet, have a good one to sell to me.

turbo coolant banjo bolt thread size
Would someone tell me what the thread size is on the the vf11 coolant hose banjo bolt, please? The local Subaru dealer says the catalog calls for a M10 or a M12 size bolt. The coolant hose comes from the lower nipple of the coolant reservoir that sits on the top of the engine. Thanks! (I don't under...

Re: Gunnar's legacy 2.2 NA from Norway
Yes, I like driving a turbo Legacy better than an NA Legacy, too. But I used to own an '81 GL wagon with a dual-range tranny. That little Suby was GREAT in the Lo range for driving up really steep mountainsides in the mud or snow, especially when there were no barriers to prevent the car from slidin...

I think I know the answer to this but I'll ask it anyway: your turbo wagon doesn't have a dual-range tranny, does it?

Very nice! Which one do you like better or does it depend on what kind of driving you're doing?
So, you now have driving lights on your NA?

Re: Gunnar's legacy 2.2 NA from Norway
Regarding parts, I was thinking about good used parts. Do you have junkyards in Norway with first gen Legacies from which you can get parts off of? While other board members in Europe can source the glass headlights, it's always good to have other sources if needed. Same with the manual seatbelts wi...

Welcome to Legacy Central!
WOW!!! Very nice job inside and out!
So, you have a dual-range transaxle? Your spoiler is from what year Legacy? What did you have to do to make the Corolla front lip fit? What kind of access to first gen Legacy parts do you have there?

Re: Dried/cracked PCV repair
Thanks for the feedback. Now, another question: After the hoses are softened enough to get them off, do they remain soft or do they become hard (or harder) again? I'm asking because I'm going to have to be removing some of those hardened hoses in my engine bay and I'd like to plan for what to expect...

Re: Dried/cracked PCV repair
So, on what heat setting do you use the heat gun? How much do you heat up the hose? Hot enough to wear an insulated glove before attempting to pull the hose off?

Re: 4EAT slow shift 2-3
Thanks for the reply and suggestion, Josh. But I have a question: As the band wears, does the clearance increase or decrease? I ask because the FSM says the symptoms I'm having is because the clearance is small. If the bands wear, wouldn't the clearance increase thereby causing symptoms 1 or 2 (wide...

4EAT slow shift 2-3
On my '94 TW w/4EAT, the shift from 2nd to 3rd is slow. It's especially disconcerting when merging onto a freeway only to find that the car won't want to increase in acceleration as it's shifting. I end up losing several car lengths until the tranny locks into 3rd gear. In reviewing the FSM per http...

Re: Whats a good summer tire these days?
What sizes do you guys run? 205-50-16? How about for 15's & 17's? It depends on what you are doing with your Subie (offroad, drag, rally, climbing hills, highway driving, etc.), what gearing you have, and your preferences. For instance, if you do mostly interstate driving, it's probably not the...
