Yep. I'll give another confirmation that that was the cylinder with the blown head gasket. I've seen that a few times, but never that clean. In my experience the piston has been cleaner than the head.

Just for the record, your RS has a 6250rpm fuel cut.

The rev limiter is 6500 on the Ej22T ECU.

As was mentioned it would hit fuel cut at lower rpms if the boost is too high.

It's definitely not the heads or valve float. Redline on the DOHC Ej25d powered cars is also 6500rpms.

I've got a TT IAC if you want to swap it out and give it a try.

Thanks for the pictures. That's a factory aluminum inlet pipe with some sort of aftermarket silicon elbow replacing the plastic elbow. Let me know if you decide to move on that price. That's more than I am willing to pay, especially since all I actually need is the pipe.

Is it THAT bad of a trip that you need to bring ALL that. If anything carrying the extra weight will put more stress on everything and cause it to break. Just bring a alternator only and toolset. Just be sure to take a decent sampling of tools (10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm, pliers, vice grips, and a couple of each standard and phillips screwdriver) a real jack, jumper cables and maybe a cigarette lighter air pump and you'll be fine.

Can you post a picture of the backside since that's clearly not a factory inlet?
