FS PA If anyone is interested
I have a 91, slate grey metallic The years have been cruel to it, the motor knocks, but should be rebuild-able and it has been hit in the front passenger side slightly bending the frame. Other than that, the car had every option and they all work except the sunroof. I'm not asking for much, in fact ...

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
As long as it will last 5-6 months I'd be happy. That gives me the chance to save up to rebuild my 22t the way I want to.

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
So, the answer is probably yes, but if I got a whole 2.5 for cheap, could it also cope with a little bit of boost?

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
"I thought you just wanted to get by cheaply for a while?"
Well, yeah, but in the words of Jeremy Clarkson: "Poooweeeerrr!"
So one other possibility popped up, could anything be done with a DOHC ej25 block?

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
So, just out of curiosity, is there any way I can make it safely run more boost? I have a few tmic's sitting around, and is it possible to use the pistons from my 22t if they are in good shape? Looking around more I see some people saying they have run more boost and had good results with the motor,...

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
Ok, so I found an ej22 for $200, what all would I need to swap over from my 22t?
Also, I know this is just a budget necessity at the moment, but any ideas how much power it would be putting down?

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
Oh I know they are reliable without the turbo, I'm just wondering how well it will cope when turbo'd.
Looking around the internet I hear mixed results.

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
How reliable would a n/a 2.2 really be? I don't want to have to change the motor out again a few months down the road.
I mean, once I get more cash I'll be rebuilding my ej22t, but I want something that will last until I can do it right.
What is the waste gate boost set at?

Re: So, ej205 with ej22t heads?
This is what was suggested to me for a cheap replacement to my blown ej22t since I do not have much cash.
I have the heads and can get the block cheaply.

How does this work? What would my compression ratio be?
I tried to look around a little bit but I don't have a lot of time atm.

WTB ej20g short block, or ej22t short block.
I'm looking for something I can pretty much throw underneath my heads and go.
I don't have the most money in the world right now, but if someone has something decent to sell that is worth the price, I want it.

Re: ej22t, lost oil somehow, now knocking.
I guess I'll look around for a ej20 shortblock, my main concern there is won't I be doing much of the same work to that as I would to my ej22t? I'm not really sure where I will find the shortblock, I don't seem to see many of them for sale right this moment, but I probably don't know the best places...

Re: ej22t, lost oil somehow, now knocking.
As far as I know, picking up a used ej22t isn't really easy, and ej20g's are going for $1400.
I can't find a running used car for under that amount in my area, and I have about $700, could I rebuild the motor, with oem parts for around that?

I'll check the oil to see.
The rest I know, I just wondered if there is a cheap place to get oem parts that is reliable that anyone recommends

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kXaZelUQyA&list=UUKG4_EY8YQMjb9LifAqNJjA&index=6&feature=plcp My questions are, can anyone tell me what exactly is knocking, is it the piston(s), or the crank? And does anyone know of a relatively cheap place to get oem parts for it, or will I have to fran...
