So I did a little more reading, and I think I understand what "bigger sway bars are like a band-aid" means. Thanks for the info, everyone. I think I've got my setup figured out: The GR2's, a turbo rear bar, and new links, then just keep an eye out for some 16's. So, would those $60/pair st...

new springs and struts will make all the difference. unless you drive the car very hard or autocross it,you probably wont even notice an issue with having not beefed up swaybars. How about strut tops? Do you think they'd be needed with just GR2's and whiteline control springs? I plan on autocrossin...

What size is your stock rear bar. I think going to a turbo rear sway bar and endlinks all the way around will do wonders. Turbo front and rear sways are 18mm. According to the suspension info thread, they're 18 and 16 front and rear respectively. After seeing that I'll probably need to spend anothe...

well, ok, thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. Looks like the whiteline 20mm front and 18-22mm rear bar. Now, what about links and brackets? Those are going to cost a bunch more money, it seems. Yeah, Missoula's a great place. I go to school in LA, so I'm just here for the summer. It's nice ...

Help me pick out sway bars

The struts on my 93 awd legacy L are pretty much done for, and I decided to get some GR2's. I don't have the money to go out and get new springs and strut tops (they seem to be in decent shape, anyway) or much else, but decided that getting new swaybars would probably be a good thing to do if I want...

That's great. Thanks.

I plan on replacing at least my struts in the next few weeks. I don't think I'll have the cash to do springs and top mounts, so I'll wait and do those together some other time.

Trust in the power of Subaru to not leave you stranded. Have faith, my son, the power of Fuji runs strong in its veins... Steve Normally I would agree, but I'm a little hesitant after my MLK weekend ski trip: My water pump broke in South Lake Tahoe, and I had to have it towed to Carson City. At lea...

Umm, this happens every time I put it in reverse, and I did check the fluid. Correctly. I've been driving my car around anyway, though, trying to aviod situations where I have to back up much. A few more questions: This coming weekend I'm going to a conference 400 miles away. Of the 4 of us going, I...

I've been driving around this week trying to avoid having to back up as much as possible. Do you guys think this is just going to be a reverse-specific problem for awhile, or will the whole thing go soon, or is there no way of really knowing? It might be a little while before I can spend hundreds of...

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks, though.
I guess I'll start looking around tomorrow.

Oh, and yeah- reverse does work better when cold, and it still rolls back at idle, it just doesn't go much faster than that.

Well, I guess I'll go get it looked at. Can anyone recommend me a good place in Los Angeles?

Should I just go to a dealer, or some sort of a transmission repair shop?

I think I've got a problem

I have a 93 Legacy L sedan AWD with 133,200 miles. I myself have put 40,000 miles on it. Last night I gave my friend a ride home. At some point, I turned around in a street, and put it in reverse (auto trans). I give it some gas, and the revs go up, and the car slowly backs up. I must have got up to...

Strange squeaking sound

Lately my n/a 93 awd sedan has not been running it's best. I flew home for winter break, and haven't worried about it in a few weeks. Next weekend I'm driving from LA to Lake Tahoe, and am a little concerned. Anyway, the engine has been running a little rough, and the left side has been a little noi...
