UPDATE: Both cars SOLD to local buyer. The time has arrived that with great reluctance I'm considering the sale of my two 1st. generation turbo Legacy. I just don't have the time and resources to devote to these projects, so this is my initial heads up for anyone that may want to acquire either or ...

Re: Considering 5MT swap & partout.
Steve, On your first question, yes the 91 driveshaft will work on the 94 chassis On the second item, I'd also do the rear separator plate and rear pass cam seal (easier to get to with the trans out). When you do the clutch, replace the throw out bearing and pilot bearing as well. Others may have so...

Considering 5MT swap & partout.
So, I've got this 91 Sport Sedan (~175k miles) that's suffering rust. I also have a lovely 94 Touring Wagon (118k miles). At this point in my ownership of these two cars, I'm considering parting out the 91SS, and using components to swap the 94TW to 5MT. I'll have every part, both small and large, r...

Re: The $9 ALK
... I installed these yesterday and the car has a lot more control in turns, especially long sweeping ones. Feels more balanced overall. On acceleration, the nose doesn't lift that much anymore either. ... The Whiteline ALK that you are comparing to is designed to reduce the amount of anti-lift tha...

Stripped it all down again last night: rad drained and removed, belts, crank pulley, t-belt covers. Removed timing belt, idlers, and tension adjuster. Compressed adjuster, reinstalled it along with the belt and idlers. Moved adjuster to the left and torqued the mounting bolts, pulled the pin. Every ...

What part number GR2?
What part numbers Whiteline springs?
You could add a 'saggy butt spacer' to the rear.

Long verion, w/ background: A few weeks ago my significant other was driving my 91 SS. She called to say that the car was making some noise-- a thunk when pulling away from a stop light, and generally more noise than usual. She also reported that it felt sluggish on acceleration. They were in a safe...

Engine runs noisy after cold start.
The Victim: 91 Sport Sedan, 5MT, about 153k miles. I'm experiencing very noisy cold starts-- it's a long story, so I've posted the Cliff's Notes version here, and I'll put the extended version below. Read whichever you have time for, please provide any feedback or suggestions. Short version: After a...

Thanks for the info! They ended up replacing all 4 because they had somehow worn down half to nearly 50% in 10k miles  so they couldn't just do two. Get an alignment right away. Do some searching around here for full background, but start with this: 0 toe, all four corners Front: max. negati...

I have an intact passenger side EDM glass headlight with city light and electric level adjuster. I also have the matching driver's side which has a couple problems. Please drop me a PM if you want the passenger side light. Or maybe you could get the pair to swap parts and get a complete matching set...
