Re: General Chit-Chat thread?

Got a bit of a promotion of sorts at work. Im kind of phasing out of being a labor worker, and phasing into low level management/leadership role. Im staying at the same pay rate, but just have a lot more responsibility and have to come in 30 minutes early every day. Im looking forward to the overtim...

Re: E-Brake Cable Broken

Duct tape solves all. On a more serious note, running ebrake cables isnt that hard. Shop time for an E30's cable is 6 hours, but my buddy and I did his in 45 minutes. Not sure if you've messed with the ebrake at the hub at all before, but I've opened up this one a few times and would gladly offer up...

Re: thewaterboy's 1993 Legacy 2.2 NA Wagon mini-build

Turns out I need new rear axles. Called the local dealership. They wanted $563/ea for the last 2 remaining Genuine Subaru rear axles. I lol'd and thanked the nice lady for her time.

Still need axles though :(

Re: Ideas for stronger axles?

Also, mike, from what I've been reading you can swap an R180 directly into a leggy with the use of Legacy GT-B axles. Apparently they have R180 inner and R160 outer CV's straight from the factory. This car might become mine soon, and if so, that swap will happen.

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Fixed my brake light switch. Thanks PNP! No more worrying about getting rear ended!

Also helped my buddy with his RWD SS, which may soon become my RWD SS. If i can price together an R180 rear along with Legacy GT-B axles for a decent price.

Re: Ideas for stronger axles?

Nope, lugs and rotor were still bolted to the wheel. The wheel bearing also shattered. Were thinking a 300zx rear diff and axles are a good idea. You can get the hubs machined out to accept 300zx things fairly easily.

Got everything together, and it sounds great! I also fixed my coilover situation, and lifted the rears ½".

Re: thewaterboy's 1993 Legacy 2.2 NA Wagon mini-build

Pshhh jackstands?? #yolo right? I like your header setup. What all did you need to do to make it fit? Which forester pieces(year etc) ? I just got it all buttoned up with ride_child's old exhaust. I needed to do a little modification, since the 2001 Forester's cat pipe (after the header, before the...

Re: No CEL's on a tuned car?

Yeah I had a tune that called for a 3" (2.75 was stock) MAF and a VR6 TB as well for my A4, it ran like piss before I got the required parts. Ill send him a link on how to reset the ECU and see how it works

Re: No CEL's on a tuned car?

After i got my borla rep on last night, we did a couple of pulls. My NA wagon walked away from his SS every time. That poor car needs some attention. In my mind, if it had the TD04+MBC+front mount it should at least have bigger injectors/FPRs and a tune. Do you guys change to bigger MAF housings to ...

Re: No CEL's on a tuned car?

It comes and goes, but doesn't flash. Im sure I've got the right connectors hooked up, provided they are the same for an SS as well as an NA wagon. We haven't reset the ECU yet. I'll be hanging out with him again on Tuesday to work on his car. Today was my wagon's day haha. We did, however, replace ...
