The STi struts will probably be valved stiffer than the GR-2, and likely more than most of the AGX settings.

I just moved from an EJ22E in the 98 L to an EJ25D in the 97 Outback, and I would miss the extra oomph if I had to go back. The later Phase II engines are interference, unlike the lower-power Phase I EJ22Es, but have a little more power.

Indeed, given the option I would use that engine in any car. I have an EJ25D in my Outback and, while it's quite a good engine so far, I don't trust it like I did my 22T.

I've had three EJ25s now, two Phase IIs and one Phase I. The first Phase II has the headgaskets replaced three times and the second once.
