Water Leak (window)

Post by e3mt »

My 94 Legacy wagon has been sitting for a little bit. Opened the door and it smelled mildewy. Driver seat was wet and floorboard was soaked.
Water is dripping between the window gasket and the hard rubber trim piece inside. Gasket appears fine, window seems to seal alright. Drips occur if the car is sitting or while driving too.
Anyone ever seen this problem?
Thanks a bunch - Mark

The rubber gasket has probably come out of the notch it fits in a little bit. That whole big T shaped rubber seal (seals both side windows and runs down the B pillar) Can be pulled out without harming it, and it may have come loose in a piece allowing water to get in and ride the back of the gasket to the floor, or dump on the front seat. Try pulling it out and re-pushing-it-in. I had this problem after repainting my window trim.

Go ahead and yank on it, the only place where its not held in by pressure is at the rear view mirror.
