Recharging a/c

Post by maria24017 »

So I haven't had air conditioning since the first time we pulled my engine. Since the system was discharged in the process of removing the engine what would be the best course of action to get everything back in order? Yesterday the temperature was 100. It really like to get it going again.

AC O-ring kit, a dryer and freon are the minimum.

Legacy777 has an extensive write up about getting ac to work in his 90, he converted to the newer r134 freon and had to replace the oil in the compressor as well.

There are some other threads out there, but here is mine.

I would recommend replacing the receiver drier, and convert it to r134a. Read over my thread and let us know what questions you have.

I actually have a question, even though it's not my thread...

Where do you get the R134a fittings? And how to you install them?
