Octane and Mileage

Post by Purple-Rain11 »

Well been loving the 92 turbo legacy, 140,xxxkms, auto, well maintained. Few questions for you all! I don't have a manual for my car but assumed it needed 91 Octane, or would 89 work? I know for sure its not 87 haha.

Also what kinda fuel mileage does everyone get. This being my first Subaru im just curious (I usually drive a Honda), as my last tank of 91 at 127.9 per litre$50 got me around 300 kms city. Is this normal?

As always, thanks everyone!

91 is required, 89 will run but can knock quite a bit under boost and reduce power. As far as mileage, 18mpg around town / 150mi till I was at 1/4 tank was average for me.
93 Touring Wagon (EJ20G 5spd Swap) -- Finally back and running strong as ever!

05 Outback 2.5XT 5spd -- Now the wife can have her SUV and get in on the turbo Legacy goodness at the same time.
