compressor housing removal?

That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

compressor housing removal?

Post by mittens »

I have a used td05h and I'd like to inspect the compressor wheel more closely as well as do some cleaning. Is there any gasket material that seals the housing to the center section? I just don't want to pull the snap ring off and find out that I need to buy a full rebuild kit.

Thanks in advance.

I've seen where there is no sealant due to the tight tolerances and I've seen a little bit of RTV sealant used. Hopefully others can chime in as well.

OK. And the exhaust side? It looks to be something like a v-band setup, but I'm not sure about a gasket there either

The v-band setups from what I understand do not have gaskets.
