andrews power box (updated, motor build)
hi, my name is Andrew steele, welcome to my creation of my car. from the beginning is where i will start.
i bought this car back in October 2006 for $1500, with 133560 on the clock and automatic.
then after driving it for about a month and a half i blew the tranny. so it sat for 1 week at my friends house.
so i decided to do the conversion. perfect timing.

i lost the other pic's .
so i used a n/a 5sp set up from a junk yard for all was $318. tranny, clutch, peddles, clutch line, drive shaft and rear diff.
so far its lasted me nicely. next i installed a boost gauge and boost controller. plus a getto intake me and davey made up.
then i built a frount mount intercooler.

i also thought that the frontmount didnt show enough so..
the beast and my brothers 2.5rs
after a little while i realised that i needed an exhaust system. so i bought an invidia cat back with an Avo down pipe.
Rallitek was having a sale on a set of rims that i liked alot so i jumped for them.
the car was getting too fast for the stock suspention. so i bought a set of 02 wrx H&R coilovers and tires for the rims.

this is with the rims and coilovers on the car
it looked very nice and aggressive. i felt that the car needed a little more power for the show. so i installed a jdm td05 16g turbo.
i still need to paint the pipe but ill get around to it.

Wow man! I love that artsy shot of the clutch, very dramatic.
Your build has me feeling quite embarrassed about my own progress.
The spoiler, wet sand and clear, lots of times. You can get a factory looking finish with a rattle can if you put some time and patience into it.
Kudos! You have a car to be proud of.

well, i kinda put my motor out of commission for the time being.
oil rings are shot is what im guessing because the oil fill tube is spitting oil out and other then that the driver side head gasket is going cause its steaming when running.
but not to worry she'll be back shortly... with more power..

awesome thread!
looking at eventually doing this myself, and love the shot of the pipes by themselves in the living room.
sharp looking car!
what suspension are you running? any rubbing when taking turns?

thanks you guys for the comments.
i have H&R coilovers on the car, running 225/45ZR17's. and no scrubing at full left or right. im going to get bigger tires after these ones wear down. mayby 235's or 245's

i'm running 18 x 48 offset
i did rub on wrx struts and springs
and even a little on the kyb's
but only at the back with rear passengers... never had a problem up front.
i was so worried about the rust, that if i rolled it, i'd end up loosing my arches!
I ended up cutting the inner lip off
the wheel gap is nasty, i want to lower it... but i'm afraid it'll be a waste of money.
someone is selling a set of eibach pro springs for my current suspension...
i'm wondering what else i'd need to do in terms of endlinks and whatnot to keep it flat in the back.
