Tony's 90 Leg LS *SOLD*

Post by SILINC3R »

Well it all started from this, a 96 Grand Cherokee Limited
Image
Mods:
new radiator
muffler
throttle body spacer
K&N intake $200
Was pretty quick, and this is were my car interest started. Until the accident which happened 4 hours prior to my sister's wedding.

later that week my best freinds parents were giving their other sons car to charity and after they found out what happened they said they would eb give me the car. so i ended up getting it for $200 dollars :-D had 210xxx miles
Image

this is close to the original car. one of the cvs was going already. the sunroof leaked and the air controls didnt work. the previous owner was on here or he knew of the forum cause he taold me about. he had the MAF adapter from Kartboy or from somewhere and put in a cone filter. he used to take it off roading and said he had it couple times on its side. guess thats how the sunroof cracked.
during that first summer i took the sunroof out and tried to fix it. took two attempts to get it right. fixed the air controls with a new one form a junk yard which was a newer model. used the Hanyes manual to figure the wires and spliced them together.

then i went to college and met a friend that got me more into car stuff like interior and what not. he had a Chevy Colbat that he was working on. he showed me how to install my lights and neons.
yes rice power, which i think added some power.
Image
Image
he also gave me this stupid little thing that you wire into the MAF and it has a nob that you turn to give you more horsepower. it kind of work but sometime after fried by using my dads truck to jump my car and somehow had the cables backwards  . so got rid of that peice of crap.

then the summer of 2007 rolled around and it was time to start making things better. so i put in front and rear strut bars from TCSportline off of ebay which make really good bars.
Image
Image
after this i decided to do the struts all around. KYBs the basic ones i think. this was one of the hardest things i did. also did this myself and all these projects. from there i moved to doing the sway bars from whiteline with end lnks and such front and rear. also did steel brake lines
Image
rearImage
Image
frontImage
Image

during this time i experimented with CAI designs and came up with this Image
work better than the stock

summer of 08 i put in a throttle body spacer from REASON
Image
did some suede interior. headliner ended up not coming out well and the rear panel where the rear speakers are has faded. planning on black vinly next.
Image
Image
Image

so now its 09 and i have redone the intake for the last time, put new rims 2005 Leg GTs, rear spacers to make the rears work, a newer mufller thanks to jp233, new ball joints, valve cover and lower oil filler gaskets and i think thats it, for now

well let me know what you think cause i will appreciate the input

Congratulations man that thing has come a long way!

Those wheels look great and I'm sure the swaybars and KYB's make it handle well to boot. I also like the latest CAI - looks quality. Keep up the good work.

now all i have to do is the front WRX springs. only problem is i dont know which springs are the fronts and which are the rears. also does it matter which side the springs go on. left-right right-left

I can't tell from the picture, but does that front rotor have a crack in it?

Gotta love working on cars in parking lots..... I had a caliper fail on me at a convenience store. Owner got pissed off at me so i left a huge puddle of brake fluid.

Last week installed 06 WRX springs front and rear. Good improvement over stock springs and a bit lower too.
Also installed RS front seats. Deciding if I want to install the rears as well, lighter but dont fold down.

so what i've learned is that dash reviynling is harder than i thought but kind of fun. i always make things more complex than they need to be. i will just buy a black dash when someone sells one.

please leave your coments and i will be posting more pictures when i get everything put back together.
