20g intercooler question.

Post by Danny-G »

Will the 20g intercooler fit without me having to push the firewall in? I found one on cl for twenty bucks and if its a no firewall adjustment fit I'm gonna try to get it.
Edit. I just looked at the add again and it looks like a slanty intercooler. Am I correct in thinking those fit no problem?

Yes it will fit. I saw the same intercooler and its dirt cheap. Tried to buy it but the guy was a 2.5 hours north so I said forget it and he didn't want to ship it.

You also need to use a EJ20G turbo of some sort to make it bolt in.

The EJ22T turbo exits at an 'uphill' angle. The EJ20G intercoolers are expecting the turbo to exit basically horizontal. There is not alot of room for an adapter pipe, although I'm sure one could be made if persistant enough.

I was only referring to the firewall clearance. The rest is. Going to be custom as with almost any intercooler really.

Would hooking it up be easier if I was hooking it up to a TDO4? My plan is to do the intercooler and TDO4 at the same time, after getting all the needed parts.

Either way u go youll have to custom fab it to match with the IC. My td04 wasn't too bad and my buddies td05 had the same work

Custom fabbing is easy for me, I like a good challenging project too. Do you guys think I should go for it and get the intercooler?
