Going top mount. 06-07

Post by Baddog »

So I am sitting here googling left and right and checking these stickies with no solid answers.

I am getting an 06-07 WRX Top mount with no BPV.

1) Is there a way to use the stock BPV on the top mount?
2) Do I need to replace the A/C line so the top mount doesn't hit?
3) Clutch master?

This should be posted in the intercooling section of the board. You say you read the stickies? On the third page of this Sticky Maybe halfway down you see the BPV adapter plate. On the first page of it, it's in the part list. You wan get the Wyntonm BPV adapter Plate, the TurboXS Type-H adapter plate, OR get a piece of 1/4" Aluminum (Or steel if you have the patience to work on it) and make one yourself by drilling a hole in it and threading in a brass fitting like Kimokalihi did, altho use a bigger fitting than he did.

I got the BPV setup. However...Mounting the Y pipe to the turbo is not fun...Nor have I found a solid way to do it just yet. Currently I am running flexible spa hose. But that of course is leaking. The BPV is fine as isn't leaking.

I need someone who has actually done a WRX intercooler swap on a Vf11. Anything I found at the part stores for radiator hoses or anything of that nature just will not work.

Go to siliconintakes.com, you can piece together all your plumbing for under 50$ and call it a day

I used a silicone Y from a WRX and cut it up to fit properly. I used some clean pipe we had kicking around to join the cut up Y pipe back together. Also used no BPV for several years with no issues. I removed my A/C and had to make some room at the firewall. We also relocated the coolant tank to where the A/C was just to make installation easier.

What do u mean u used no bpv for years with no issue? You'd have to put some type of bov/bpv on the ic to even run properly
