Anyone have Ground Control on thier legacy?

Post by Nate S »

I used to work up there, have a bunch of spare parts laying around and just so happen to have enough stuff to put my stock wrx shocks with the coilover kit on it, what I need to know is, if you have it, what kind of "top hats" ( the little thing that locates the top of the spring to the uppper mount ) do you have? are they flat or shaped like a cone? I could probably figure this out if I pulled it apart but dont want to before I actually go to put the stuff on.
thanks,
Nate

The rear top mounts on the 92 "should" be the wider style like all the rest of the newer models......however I have heard some instances of the 92 having the tapered springs.

Look in your rear wheel well. Take some measurements at the base of the spring, and then at the top. If they are only 1-3mm difference between top & bottom, they are the non-tapered springs. If you got a lot more difference between top & bottom, you have the tapered springs.

I think this is what you were askin about......if not....smack me...and ask again :)

that is pretty much what I was asking,
I have the spare upper locators left over from when I did my custom mounts on my wrx so I just needed to figure out if they would work . If I just jacked the car up I am sure I could figure it out, since I got layed off my job on monday I guess I have the time now

thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure anything that mounts on a GC8 should fit a legacy sedan. I'm not sure about the wagon. So WRX wagon parts will fit since they compatible with the GC8s, but I'm not sure about stuff form the WRX sedans.

I installed 2000 GC8 shocks and struts in my 91 wagon, so cross that one off the list.

Sits a little low in the rear - but - not too low.
