Does anyone know any history on this 1990 legacy ss, seattle
apparently it was purchased in Washington state, and driven to NY where I have bought it for $1200.
it seems to have had multiple front collisions and a stupid white-face gauge kit, the panels are three different colors, sprayed over red. 127k~ on the OD, AWD engine doesn't seem original, Sti rims.
If anyone has any history on this car it would be incredible.
-thanks
Aaron.

I just saw it on.craigslist for years. It's not an SS, but a swapped 90. That's all I got.

I was about to say that's a build car cause from what I have read SS started in 1991 so it was probably similar to my car i.e. 1990 legacy L fwd I don't know if its an auto if so then yeah like mine then they did what I want to do. More then likely a stock turbo for a SS turbo ecu and pulled an awd setup either by part or from donor car with matching tran. and tada you have yourself "SS"

Re: Does anyone know any history on this 1990 legacy ss, sea
the car is AWD/RWD original, the motor may be newer than the car (maybe replaced after collisions) but it has a sport sedan decal in the front left, 1990 on the title, VIN says 1990. oil cap says 1990, could it Just be like a 91 model year stamped as 90? the badges on the trunk lid are legacy turbo, awd abs etc. it's boggling my mind to think it could all be swapped, someone would have to be more then dedicated.Nohbdy wrote:I was about to say that's a build car cause from what I have read SS started in 1991 so it was probably similar to my car i.e. 1990 legacy L fwd I don't know if its an auto if so then yeah like mine then they did what I want to do. could it be like a 1990 Subaru legacy rs? I really cant believe this car would have that much work done to it, it's stock otherwise, is there any way I can definitively tell other than "there's no such thing as a 1990 Subaru legacy ss"

Just did the autocheck. reported miles were 274k in 2003, one collision in 2003. nothing is original.dscoobydoo wrote:two words: no sunroof.

It was very over priced IMO on craigslist. $4500 or so? Someone on here checked it out and noted the salvage title. For a running and driving turbo car, I think $1200 is a great deal.

I would have to agree I want an ss but all the ones i find are far away or more money then I have and as a note about the back that says turbo if I looked at it right that whole back plastic panel is held on by screws so wouldn't be too hard if you're already swapping parts to swap that too. But sadly we will never truly know what happened to get you that car or where it has been all we can tell is you own it and at a hell of a price.

One way to check if its swapped or not is the engine code on the vin plate on the drivers strut tower. If it says ej22e, its swapped for sure.

Wish I knew what the person was selling it for then, some members said it was unreasonably high and no-one ever bought it.robertpaige wrote:Crazy. Saw that car on CL for a long long time.
