I didn't see this when I searched, but does anyone know if I can get a kit of new starter contacts from the dealer? Granpa's wagon has the symptoms of either contacts or a bad solenoid. I think I'm gonna pull it next week and see exactly what it needs.
TIA!
New starter contact kit

Poo!!
I put new contacts in the old starter last night, using Toyota parts. I found identical Toyota pieces for every last original Subaru piece, although I did have to use two different part numbers of Toyota contact kits.
But that doesn't matter. I woke up this morning to hear heavy rain
which delayed me a few minutes, but I put the starter back in when it stopped...
And...
Still does the same thing
So I guess it needs brushes or something. Oh well. The whole contact thing cost $20 and it was a good learning experience. Off to Advance for a new starter.
