The problem with that approach is I find many of our members treat ignorant the same as stupid. They're different and we have an obligation to educate the ignorant. I wasn't born with this wealth of Subaru knowledge. I had to learn it, and many times that was being taught by those in the know. Guys like Quirt Crawford, Bill Knose, Shiv, Mark Rameriz, and Joel Gatt took the time to explain things to me when I didn't know. I consider it my duty to do the same and pass it on. Forums have revived a human tradition of education through spoken word that was dying out quickly. I personally don't mind repeating myself. Oftentimes someone will link a thread to something I said 2 or 3 years ago. In the intervening years I may have learned more that I can add to those old thoughts. Or I may find out that I was wrong. How many years did the myth that the Ej22T block = the 22b block last? Even Mark Rameriz (the infamous Xephyr) swore up and down that they were the same. It took me 2 years of looking into it to get the right answer. The noobs asking questions and challenging our status quo force us to grow and learn. In fact, for years now, my definition of a good day has been based upon whether or not I learned something new that day...
