Damn.

I know how hard it can be.

If anyone knows any of the admins, have them get in contact with me if they need some help.

Yeah there's been some communication between the mods. I haven't heard any recent updates though.

Most of these hacks are intentional, but not done by anyone related to the site.

Legacy Central had a hack many years ago that didn't affect the database, but messed up the site.

What they'll do is run automated scripts, looking for vulnerabilities, then exploiting them, and replacing important files with their own. If they can get a place to store files, they will, then waste bandwidth by sharing them in a network.

It's all lame, and is why I keep up on software updates.

USMB is back down... and with very bad timing!

I have the front end of my '89 GL wagon engine tore apart and it's my first time digging in this deep. So now I'm trying to get everything put back together correctly.

yup... sucks.. I was on the USMB when it got hit this time and I scrambled for the next hour running multiple virus scans etc. cos I didn't know what else had been done while they were hacking it.
Talk about bummed... I'm supposed to be helping a guy install a new steering rack in his '95LX and also get a set of oldschool wagon wheels :-(

I have not heard word one about the USMB. I have ShawnW and Calebz on my MSN list, and neither of them have replied to me regarding it.

So im done waiting. Through popular demand I have setup a kind of "temporary USMB" at http://usmb.bydemons.com

Feel free to register there and use it. Unfortunatly it does not have the plethora of subaru knowledge the USMB did, but until we get the old board back this may have to do.
