Yeah, but probably not enough air to make much of a difference.

Re: Cheap FCD
-Sorry for the bump, but i was wondering if there was any updates to anyone who has tried this? Is it still working, etc! I'm running a turbo xs dual stage boost controller, currently at 13lbs in 5th gear. I want to run 16lbs of boost.
-Reading thru this thread, it seems like an economical way of getting rid of fuel cut, but I'm still a little skeptic as i dont want to hurt or break anything.

Re: Cheap FCD
These work from what I've read from others. It should be fine as long as you don't up the boost too much.

Re: Cheap FCD
-Well all i'm looking for is 2-3 more pounds of boost. As i've heard the td04 is efficient up to 16lbs.
-It would be nice to see a DIY write-up on this but i'll go back thru and read it again to make sure i get things right.

-So here's my setup. I went to Harbor Freight and picked up these items:
-1 #68198 1/4 x1/4 male-male coupler
-1 #68220 air inline regulator
-2 #68209 air brush adapter
-From auto zone I picked up:
-1 #47311 3/16" vacuum restrictor
-1 #47149 vacuum check valve (not used yet)
-My current setup:
-Parts:
-After assembly:
-The final product:
-I'm going to test this right now and let you guys know how it went. Let me know if I did something wrong and or what needs to be changed!

Re: Cheap FCD
-So far so good, no fuel cut. But the real test for me is 5th gear on the freeway. AFR's still look good on the wideband, high 11's and low 12's.
-I'm going to be moving to San Bernardino CA. tomorrow so I'll post here what happens, if anything, once I get there.

Re: Cheap FCD
i don't think napa or an auto parts store would stock a MBC. there's a couple DIY threads on here about how to make one out of parts from home depot. Search home made manual boost controller or DIY manual boost controller.

Re: Cheap FCD
To up your boost past the stock boost lvl you will need a MBC, but you will only need the FCD if you are going past 13PSI i think

Re: Cheap FCD
ive been using the 2way check valve and boosting 15lbs with no problems yet!

Re: Cheap FCD
Could one not use a check valve (to allow vacuume to get to the FCD) in parallel with a MBC backed down so the FCD sees 10 PSI but you are boosting 15 PSI? The check valve would block the boost.

Re: Cheap FCD
I'm sure you could do something, but tuning and configuring them would be kind of difficult I think.

Yeah, it's like all the power is taken away. It's pretty noticable.
