02-03 WRX pedal set

Post by LGT Kirby »

Is there a way to make a pedal set from a WRX work in a touring wagon? Currently doing my swap and remembered that WRX is pull and my transmission is push (I think, or vise versa). Just curious if it's been done. That's for any input.

Do you already have a manual trans in the car? Or are you looking for a pedal set for a manual trans swap? If so what did the manual trans come out of? If it was a turbo car, it should have the same pull type clutch as the WRX.

To use the WRX pedals and a push style clutch, you would need to use a push style hydraulic clutch setup.

He's doing a manual swap, with a hydraulic tranny from a Forester. IIRC all the phase I hydraulic tranny pedals are interchangeable, as well as 2nd gen Impreza's, turbo or non.

Is it safe to assume this would include STi models?

I am gathering parts for my own 4EAT -> 5MT swap.

These worked just fine for me, couldn't match up 1 bolt though.

Good to know, thanks.

I have heard elsewhere that one bolt does not match. I assume that means one hole on the pedal box does not match the hole on the firewall, so you are satisfied with one less bolt holding the assembly on to the car.

Can you confirm, deny or elaborate?

The bolt is on the top if the pedal assembly, not going to the fire wall. It's approx 1/2" away from being perfect. Everything is still very sturdy as is.

This is the bolt hole that does not line up.

It is the far right side of the pedal assembly, so it is located above the throttle pedal, even though it is the structure that is attached to the studs going to the clutch master cylinder.
