Remote MBC anyone
Has anyone tried or have any insight into using a remote MBC? I would like for the control to be in the car so when I'm just normally driving I can keep it turned down but can turn it up if I "need" to. I just put a td05-16g and a wrx tmic in and I'm trying to stay out of trouble and not waste all my money on gas. Any ideas or input are welcome. And please tell me if I missed something in my searching.

The hallman pro mbc has a kit that makes it adjustable from the cabin... Like 75-100$

Just use a light throttle. Just because full boost is available doesn't mean you have to use it. That will save just as much gas.fireman2101 wrote:when I'm just normally driving I can keep it turned down but can turn it up if I "need" to. If you are dead set on this, you don't want a knob chilling in your cabin somewhere that when you do need the power, you have to know exactly, down to the 16th of a turn, how far you can turn the knob. You would want an electronic boost controller.
But really, that's what your right foot's job is.

Ok make sense. I may have jumped the gun a little with thinking about this. The more I drive it, given I only turned up the boost yesterday, it doesn't seem like I will need it as much as I thought I would and it is nice to have the power in those hairy situations when you need it.

Re: Remote MBC anyone
Coming in a little late on this, havent been here in a while.
I have a Hallman MBC and have it mounted to the side of my center console (my 89 RX).
Before I installed my FCD I was able to dial it in pretty good for 8lb and then full boost, which was about 12lb with my setup. Since the FCD install its usually at full boost - 15lbs. Its just to much damn fun!
And no, I'm not worried about blowing the engine up. I have a walbro FP and TMIC, etc.
Once in a while when I'm trying to conserve fuel I'll turn it down, but its rare.
