Plasti Panda

Post by dankberries »

Gone Panda!

Decided I wanted to play around with some plastidip.
Over all this stuff doesn't seem like it will last very long, its going to be hard to clean, and it costs about $200 to do the whole car.
The stuff is really fun to play with, i enjoyed no prep work or sanding of any kind. Its awesome just peeling it away. Didn't mask anything, which kinda made for more work later, probably should mask if your doing it, although I found a scotch pad is the shit for cleaning it off lights and windows.
Still got some more to spray, going to get all the trim and grill in black. Will post more pics.

All in all plastiDip gets a 6.5/10 from me so far.

Won't last very long eh? That's been my main concern with plastidip

I've had mixed results. On my wheels i notice that it's coming up a little bit in one specific place. That might be because i was picking at it with a toothbrush when i washed it. However, on my grille, it's lasted for years without a problem.

My buddy has had his whole car done for 2 years now and still looks great! My cousin also recently did his rs so we shall see how it holds. If you take the time to do it right you can expect great results that hold up. It is def fun to mess around with diff colors!

Not sure if I like the black trim. Gotta love that I can peel it away, although costly.

I've had it on the trim over my window for over two years now, the only place it's pealing is where I picked it off with my fingernail just to see how easily it comes off, and it hasn't come off anymore than what I did.

It's only supposed to last a year though, definitely not a permanent thing.
