I'm probably going to trade the car for a Chevy 305 swapped Volvo 740 wagon.

I cant pass that up.

with only 12k on a reasonably built motor.

I suppose but this car's been through so much I spend more time fixing it than driving it, it's close to being reliable, but this MAF put me over the edge.

Try to find an enthusiast who is willing to nurse her back to health. Your subie deserves not to be put out to the pasture, since it's so close to running well.

Congrats on the volvo though, I almost pulled the trigger on a 940SE recently. Turbo, IRS with factory LSD, auto :(, low miles, great shape for $800. Ah well.

you really should have! the Turbobricks/ older turbo Volvo forum is strangely more active than legacycentral. it's making a comeback.

could leaving the stock boost solenoid connected prevent it from running properly.. even if there are no hoses attached..? either way it has to be still in some sort of limp mode...

Well, maybe I've connected the knock sensor wire incorrectly, I have this poorly drawn diagram of the pinout I'm just curious to know if this is the right side of the plug to be looking at when you wire it, way it's wired right now is opposite to the diagram, maybe me assuming the black wire was the ground was incorrect?

Your diagram is incorrect. The numbers should be swapped on the connector. The numbering that is presented on all the diagrams references things as if you are looking directly at the ECU. So the chassis side ECU connector numbering would be opposite. I go into more detail in this thread.
