No problem. I can probably get more butyl from him if you need it, but it sounds like you have it resolved.
Re: Alex's 1993 Legacy L (PIC HEAVY)
While working on the car today, I noticed something about my auto seatbelts.
i tried tugging on them at a fast speed and found that they didn't lock.
AFAIK, Subaru incorporated a sort of pendulum system or ball mechanism thingy where they will function in the event of a crash or quick braking...
Personally, I don't know how much I trust these in the event that something terrible happens. Plus, the novelty of auto belts kind of wore off - they're also kind of ugly, obstructing the view from my sexy silver dash and all
Has anybody ever installed aftermarket seatbelts before? Not the manual belts (un)commonly found in other 1st Gens, but rather full on aftermarket 3pt belts... https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/seatbelt ... 25/view/61
I was thinking about drilling new holes into the plastic trim pieces and installing a belt into the frame rather than get the new headliner and such. I can actually use the would-be missing auto belt rail thing for some VIP stuff (wink wink)... plus, I already shelled out money for the headliner.

Re: Alex's 1993 Legacy L (PIC HEAVY)
I haven't heard of anyone installing those. But I did install 2nd gen legacy seat belts on my 2nd SS and it worked great! The bolts off the 2nd gen belts weren't the right size to fit the existing holes in the b pillars. And I did have to use a small hole saw through the plastic trim. But it was a huge win!

Well, seeing as there are a bunch of 2nd gens in the local yards, I might have to get some then... Probably cheaper to pull them than pay $80 for new ones...
Thanks!
Thanks!

Will do, mine aren't exactly the prettiest things anyway...
Re: Alex's 1993 Legacy L (PIC HEAVY)
Just a little peek of what's going in...
Oh, got the China unit working... Forgot about the two screws on top of the unit that need to be removed... lol.

Hey guys, audio system's almost installed, been kind of lazy at the moment. Still need to get proper mounts for the fronts. Ran into some issues with my amp setup, so I'm trying to nullify those issues now... lost my grounding wire which came in the kit, so gotta go get new wire. Should have it up and running soon - wanting to hear it before I head out for summer... this next vacation I think is going to be my last, so I need to take advantage of these opportunities.
On a side note...
I got really bored last night... so... yeh. amijdmyet?

Re: Alex's 1993 Legacy L (PIC HEAVY)
That's a pretty cool find actually haha - last saw one on eBay for $800 I think...
I'll post a picture of a seat that is partially installed; the rails from the originals don't bolt up correctly, so I'll need to drill into the rails to match up to the seat mounting points. Also need to somehow extend the seatbelt latch thing so it's not hugging the side of the seat; being too short, it causes the belt latch thing to leave an indentation in the seat...
Currently in California and will be traveling across Eastern Europe, France, the Mediterranean, and Asia until late August... I think I have someone working on a few unfinished things like the coilover installation as well as finishing up the audio, but I can't say for certain, so hopefully I'll still be able to post updates.
Happy 4th!

Re: Alex's 1993 Legacy L (PIC HEAVY)
Picked them up for $100 for the pair. No rips or tears, few loose threads and just a little dirty and worn. Steam cleaned them but couldn't return them back to black, if they ever were. Much better feel than originals though, no creaking or anything that makes it feel cheap, of course, I've never sat in an eBay seat before.
I say this because there is no branding on the seat, haven't looked underneath the seat cover, can't find anything online either. Was originally for a fox body Mustang.
Oh, don't mind the curtain haha. Wasn't exactly fully attached at the time of the photo lol...

I'm back.
Apologies for the big photo, lost my resizer at the moment.
Shout-out to J-Rod's Garage for coilover installation!

That's up near J-Rod's and as for the meets, not yet unfortunately. Believe it or not, I'm actually getting my intermediate license tomorrow, hopefully, so I haven't really gotten around to visiting RTC, but soon I'll start showing up to the local meets and such!
Should have a bit more things done by then too, just got the subs working, getting a tint, muffler, and a broken lug stud fixed tomorrow, New horns, etc.

I'll keep that in mind, Mike! Hopefully school doesn't mess stuff up.
Got the exhaust and tint on, going to inquire about the broken lug stud tomorrow. The $25 muffler really brought out the sound, doesn't sound too ricey either. Good rumble.
