Possible injector upgrade
They would require a fuel rail swap from a 92-94 BC/BF and the connectors may need worked over a bit.
Scroll down to where it says "Legacy parts". They are 555cc and 740cc Nismo injectors.

No, they definitely are NOT cheap at $720 USD for 4.
I actually posted with you in mind though because I know you were looking for injector upgrade options.

There has GOT to be a better (i.e. easier/less expensive) way to do this.
What about cutting the injectors? I remember reading a thread on NASIOC about filing down the stock WRX injectors to get them to flow as much (nearly) as the STi injectors.
I find it hard to believe that there is no injector upgrade for this car.

The ones that look like this:
http://www.mossyperformance.com/fuelinj.jpg
Should fit into 92-94 non-turbo fuel rails. The 92-94 non-turbo rails are a direct swap onto a turbo.
I will try to rig up a test for the injectors I modified tomorrow since the weather should be good.

I KNEW IT! Everyone on nasioc said those injectors would just drop right in. I was sooooo skeptical about that.NICO I WRX U wrote:will those ones in that nismo section work? i tried the sti ones and they go in but dont sit right

And at almost 500 bucks for all 4, that's an expensive mistake to make.
The 92-94 N/A fuel rail swap might be a viable alternative. What about the WRX fuel rail?

They won't drop into our stock rails, but they should drop into the non-turbo 92-94 rails.boostjunkie wrote:I KNEW IT! Everyone on nasioc said those injectors would just drop right in. I was sooooo skeptical about that.
I know from experience that injectors from a 94 Nissan Altima fit correctly in a 93 Legacy non-turbo fuel rail. In fact, the Altima injectors look almost identical to the stock Legacy injectors.
BAC2.5 - I don't think the WRX rail will fit right; the mounting points changed and stuff. WRX injectors are top-feed, too, so I'm not sure they'd fit right into our manifolds without some special custom seals.
Could be worth a try though if you can pick up a cheap pair of WRX stock rails.

So the sti 440cc side feeds don't swap right in early turbos? But they might the 92-94? I'm having a hard time keeping track of when people are talking about the sti injectors and when the nismo injectors...
thanks
thanks

I think what vrg3 is saying is...
The STi injectors will drop into the 92 - 94 N/A Fuel rails.
If this is the case, then it's just a matter of directly swapping over the fuel rails and then dropping in the STi injectors (or whatever STi compatable injectors you are looking to buy).
If that's how it works, then that seems super easy, and relatively cheap.

oohhh. Well that sucks. $720 for injectors now as opposed to the $470 of the STi injectors.

Oh man oh man, Kelly. Haven't you seen the gobs of posts I've been making on the subject?
I'm very interested in what you've got, and whether or not it's a plug and play affair or an extensive modification.
Cheaper than the $720 mark (if not $$470) would be nice too.

as long as you get the right type of injectors (saturated vs peak-hold) any injector can essentially be fitted.... for my friends 2000 legacy gt (2.5L) we used wrx injectors and machined adaptors which allow the wrx injectors to fit on the stock intake manifold... really should be the same case for anything else

OK... so are we saying that the 92-94 NA Legacy fuel rails (which do indeed fit on turbo Legacys without any problem?) can accept most Nissan injectors?
What size are our injectors anyway? Flow rate, not physical dimensions (since they dont seem to matter, as theres no replacements available anyway...)

I don't know about "most" Nissan injectors, but they can certainly take many Nissan side-feed injectors.
I have some pictures in this thread:

Oh, and our injectors are supposedly somewhere between 360cc/min and 390cc/min... I don't know whether that was measured at 36.3 psi or at the more common 43.something psi. Maybe both, which would account for the two different numbers.

The WRX injectors are different in physical dimensions (too skinny) and won't fit into our manifolds correctly.
I was thinking there may be some injectors that will fit in our manifolds that will work with the WRX fuel rail......

Is anyone on the board currently (successfully) using the non-turbo rail and some non-Legacy injectors successfully? I want details, flow rates, ease of swap, etc... inquiring minds want to know
