pull turbo

Post by ellets »

Could someone give me a quick rundown on pulling turbo on 94 leg.
Search hasn't turned up anything on my computer.

First remove turbo air inlet and charge piping. Next remove 5 fasteners that bolt up the down pipe. Remove down pipe. Un-bolt banjo bolt, for the oil feed, from the cylinder head, don't lose those copper washers. Disconnect coolant line from turbo. Remove the three remaining fasteners bolting the turbo to the up-pipe. Pull the turbo straight up, as to free it from the oil return pipe on the bottom of the turbo.

At this point, the turbo should be out :)

I still haven't figured that one out. need about 3/4 inch more space. That is why I wanted to loosen turbo.
