Re: Anyone know what these connectors are for??
They should be the sub fan short connectors.
Do both fans turn on together when the ECU kicks the fan on, or does only one fan turn on? If only one fan turns on, plug those connectors together and see if both fans turn on.

Re: Anyone know what these connectors are for??
Would connecting the connectors help with my fan problem at all?

Can you refresh my memory about the specifics of your fan problem.Danny-G wrote:Would connecting the connectors help with my fan problem at all?

Re: Anyone know what these connectors are for??
The left fan doesn't come on when the right does and the fuse under the hood blew in abot five seconds after I replaced it so I'm currently getting by with a thirty amp fuse even though I shouldn't do that.

Umm, I think connecting it should get both fans to come on.....as for it fixing the other problem, I'm not sure about that.

Re: Anyone know what these connectors are for??
If you don't have AC, then you only have one fan. Most of all the cars I have seen have come with AC. I believe the connector was a way to integrate two different wiring setups together to acheive the desired output, ie both fans coming on.
With the newer cars, that control is all based in the computer.
It's actually pretty neat, our legacies have a decent amount of electrical wiring "logic" built in which allows you to intercept/modify signals if you get the wiring right. The newer cars, all the switching and logic is built into the ECU and requires reprogramming.
