After I sold the 94, 93forestpearl found me a SCREAMING deal on a 1991 in need of a short block. It is pretty much rust free in comparison to the 94 which was rotting all over.
91 SS the day I got it, with my 1996 outback wheels/tires on it.
Then 3 months later I found out this happened to the 94 and made an offer to buy it back
The damage doesn't look that bad, but the front end is swung over about 6 inches or so. It would take too much time on the frame rack to fix the rusty beast so its all getting swapped into the 91 I picked up. It's quite amazing how the plastic in older cars is so much stronger. Any car from 2000+ the front bumper wouldn't even have existed after the crash let alone only have a few broken pieces on it. So the build thread has begun. I have just started stripping the 1994 down and scrapping it. The VLSD rear diff from the 1994 is pulled and going into my 1996 Outback. I pulled the junk radiator/fans out along with the junk fenders/bumper/headlights/corner lights. I donated the front bumper to keystone for recycling and the fenders went to the scrap pile.
The motor and transmission are ready to come out. The only thing I have left is to take the 2 bottom nuts off of the bellhousing, the pin out of the clutch fork and drop the entire tranny w/ x-member then pull the motor. I have to keep it a roll-able chassis until I can get the 91 out of the snow heap it is buried in at my friends place. Then the real part out will begin.
