2015 WRX

Woke up to find leaked photos of the new WRX all over. Thankfully its still obviously built up from the Impreza (really, what's wrong with that? A 'real' sports car like the BRZ is too impracticle if you're constrained by normal family life like a large part of the WRX fan base).

Motor Trend was upset because it doesn't have a low swoopy roof. Eff that! My Charger has a low swoopy roof and they are retardedly impracticle! You can't see stoplights and there's a disprortionately cramped rear headroom for the size of the car. So happy its got a normal roof.

I like the new Impress better than the new Legacy, and this WRX better than the current LGT. But if you go back to the '04-07 models I'd be likely to actually buy, the Legacy wins all over.

+1

I'll wait for final judgement, but I'm not putting in an order anytime soon.

IMO all they did was change the front end (hood, grill, fenders, etc). This car doesn't really do anything for me. I really don't care for the new Impreza....it looks like a Corolla albeit, not quite as ugly.

The new 2015 Legacy concept looks better than the current model, but we'll see how much Subaru waters it down before it goes to production.

Just read that the 2015 STI has a carryover EJ257 instead of the direct-injected FB20. My guess is Subaru isn't so sure about the durability of the FB20. Nonetheless, it also means the new STI is saddled with fuel economy numbers that vehicles weighing nearly 1000lbs more are able to beat with new power trains...

Exactly....I'm disappointed as I hoped Subaru would finally be able to compete in MPG. Ford and their Ecoboost engines are much better (in MPG -not so sure on reliability!), for example.

Also, just not liking the new look of either WRX or STi.

In the JDM Legacy the FA20 makes almost as much as the STi. Although the link (car and driver) gets it wrong that the FA20 will be in the STi, too.

Looks like the offspring of a corolla and honda civic. Gross. I'm still not warming up to the 08+ subarus. Imo the only good looking subaru now is the xv. And the brz if you can call that a subaru. On top of the ugly bodies they're overpriced. I'm am disappoint.

Todd,

That's a pretty interesting link about the FA20...and some pretty good numbers!

Kimo....I'm with you....I'm not too happy with what Subaru has been putting out lately. I don't mind the wide fendered 5-door WRX's....I think that started in 2010....but the interior is still poo and is boy racerish.
