Re: Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe
Will any WRX DP bolt to the turbo fine? My DP has just a round hole with everything else flat and blocked off by the flange its not bell mouth or divorced just one round pipe, the rest is blocked off.

Re: Need suspension to fit larger tires/rally but not much l
Who knows what struts are on the rear. Maybe you could clean the grime off one and pull some part numbers for a google search. Either way, if you want to fit taller tires, you'll need longer struts. Do some searching for people's experience with different strut setups on this site and elsewhere. We...

Re: Need suspension to fit larger tires/rally but not much l
Also I don't want to lift the suspension that much so I can throw road or rally tires back on it and be at a good height, I understand a 27" tire is going to give me a 1" lift on its own, thats no big deal.

Need suspension to fit larger tires/rally but not much lift.
Ok so I have a 93 Legacy SS rally car, it's my daily right now while my 98 BD GT gets fixed... It had awesome DMS coilovers that got parted so I have no idea what shocks it has, the previous owner told me he put 98 GT shocks on it in the rear but my 98 with OEM replacement KYB GR-2's in the rear fit...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?
So just FYI for people searching this I went with 294mm front (WRX 929 pad shape) powerstop kit with new/re-man red calipers, pads and rotors and I'm going to run the 05+ legacy GT rear brakes (vented H6) rear or basically 06-07 WRX 4 pot rotors but with sliding 2 pot/1 pot calipers cuz I can't affo...

Re: What should I run for rear brakes?
Never mind I was looking at the wrong numbers the H6 (290mm) with WRX front only moves my bias 2% to the rear.... soooo vented or non vented?

Re: What should I run for rear brakes?
Pretty sure the rear brakes from the newer cars don't fit. So use 00-04 legacy 290x10mm rotors. You need calipers from around 99-07 and then can just get the taller brackets and bigger rotor. And yeah, the subaru 2-pots use a 290x18mm rotor, as does the 05-09 legacy gt. Why don't they fit? So the H...

Re: What should I run for rear brakes?
I'm kind of liking the Forester XT 278x18mm rotors but I can't find a rotor/caliper combo for sale anywhere like I can with WRX and LGT brakes. So the FHI 4-pot rear uses 290mm vented rotors? Am I right on that? I guess what I wanted to do was 04-05 WRX brakes for more front pad options and they are...

What should I run for rear brakes?
So I am for sure going to go with WRX 294mm rotor in the front, what I'm wondering about is what rear brake would be good to keep my brake force distribution about the same? Unfortunately the exl spreadsheet calculator hasn't been updated like this thread has and is about 10 years old.... If I run 2...

All of the previous posts are dead on. The Td05 was the jdm Sti turbo used with the ECU Rob tunes. That is why it is the "standard". The heads on these engines suck. Both of my cars hit a "wall" due to the heads not being able to handle the flow. I would rather drive a td04 car ...

Re: "Best" Turbo for a 550 Robtune
His tune is made for the TD05h and the green Maf. The Maf is what limits us/his 550 tune(among other variables) I am by no means an expert in his tunes, but the easiest I think would to go with a set up that has already proven to work. There are some Td05's still floating around with the 90 inlet. ...

"Best" Turbo for a 550 Robtune
So I'm planning a 550 Robtune, TMIC with my 3" turbo back exhaust and am wondering what turbo to go with? Will the Robtune and 550's max out the VF11? I'm assuming so? I want the smallest fastest spooling thing that will flow enough to not be limiting me. I have found and read this http://forum...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?
721 shape pads are available in quite a few compounds so you don't really need to change anything on the GT. The other big reason to find the newer calipers is that they will be in better condition. I mean, anything with the older 721 shape is going on 15 years old at this point, whereas I think th...

The best filter and oil? Spend a few weeks reading bobistheoilguy.com, all your answers will be found there lol. A whole forum on just oils and filters, can you imagine. The manual calls for 10w30 except in cold conditions, then 5w30 may be used. I personally use Rotella T6 10w40 and the compatible...

Re: Compiled brake information
So stock SS 15's wont fit over 294mmx24mm rotors? Can you run D721's or D929's on 276x24mm rotors no problem? I don't know about D929's, but if you use the above list: D721: 1997-2002 Legacy 1998-2001 Impreza RS 2002 Impreza and WRX 1998-2002 Forester All but the WRX (294mmx24mm) use the 276x24mm r...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?
I understand now. Check out the brake thread sticky for the brake math spreadsheet. It shows you the exact amount of change in bias upgrading the brakes will have. If you have all those plans for the car, dont waste a penny more on cheesy brakes. Upgrade to the 4/2 pots, or keep the stockers till y...

See my post above. Im wondering what your objective in doing this is. Spending money for spending money's sake with no performance increa se dosen't make any sense to me. Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?
Lol caliper bracket or both? If I need to change calipers that's kind of spendy...... also can I just order brackets from a parts store? or am I going to have to go junkyard hunting? I'd just rather go into a parts store and pay $30-40 for some nice black powdercoated brackets.mike-tracy wrote:Yes
