I should add to this How-To. DO NOT USE REDLINE 75W90NS. After a few thousand miles, it was back to the horrid shifting transmission.

Depends on what you want. STi axles are marginally stronger than WRX axles, so looking at it from that point of view is faulty. A built 5MT is going to be MUCH better for drag racing and anytime you want longer gear ratios. The 6MT is good if you REALLY like to shift (and into 5th down the 1/4 mile....
