Re: WTB: 4EAT FWD

Thanks for the reply Josh. I've been trying to post for a couple of days now, but my internet has been up and down like a toilet seat in a co-ed bathroom. . . I've decided to go with a used one out of Oregon. It's almost a joke that the shipping is nearly as much as the transmission. They don't have...

WTB: 4EAT FWD

The vehicle is a '94 Legacy L Wagon. The official diagnosis, delivered today, is that the transmission is "fried", rebuild kits/parts are not available anywhere near nor at a cost comparable to a used unit. Subarus are a very rare breed in this part of Texas (Bryan/College Station) or any ...

Re: TCU Compatibility

Josh - The information is from a note on the '90-'94 ECU pinout page for pin B48.16, "Barometric pressure sensor 1N " ( N : Naturally aspirated models only , 1 : 1990-1992 models only ) I made a bad assumption (I know what that makes out of me. . .) and the facts do not support it. The not...

Re: TCU Compatibility

I suspect that a '93 OR '94 would work as neither will expect a barometric pressure input from the ECU, but I have two '94 TCUs that I've sent for repair ($149 + shipping with a lifetime R/R warranty) so I'll just live with the codes until I get them back.

TCU Compatibility

This is an update to my previous thread, " A long sad tale, etc. " I solved the problem by replacing the TCU (from a '94 with one from a '90. While this solved all performance problems and got rid of the original TCU error code (14 - Shift Solenoid #2), it added a new wrinkle. I have been ...

Subaru OEM parts. . .

I just bought a water pump and two thermostats for my '94 2.2l Legacys. I have read at least two posts on the board that said they all come with gaskets. I'm sure that they did when the posters bought them, but I guess Subaru has changed their tune because mine came WITHOUT gaskets. I got them from ...

If you've ever pulled or replaced the radio in the center console, you'll remember the 2 screws on the side of the mounting that are way back in there, in a narrow space. You have to put them in AFTER the radio and bracket is in and they are a stone bitch to get started without dropping them and the...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Today I spent another day with Murphy, this time with automatic seat belts. My daughter says, “Hey! The seat belt won't go back in!” (the auto shoulder belt) “Wonderful (not),” I thought. Murphy dogs me but I hoped he was just going to laugh as I jumped through all the hoops. How hard could this be?...

(SOLVED) A long sad tale and a cry for HELP!

Thanks for the welcome Josh! I saw that a fair number of folks had read my post but I figured they were all as stumped as I was. I live in College Station. It's not too big but big enough to have most of the city amenities. It seems as if over half of the population is A&M students and it sure t...

A long sad tale and a cry for HELP!

If I were an Aussie, I'd say ”G'day, mates”, but since I'm just a Texan, I'll try, ”Howdy, y'all”. . . This is my first post. I've lurked and read for several months and finally registered, but up 'til now I haven't felt that I had anything to say that was worth anyone's time to read. I had also hop...
